Does it make the desk underneath hot? I’m concerned about damage to desk

The bottom of the appliance which sits on four little plastic circles is a little warm to the touch, but neither the bottom which doesn't touch the desk or table surface nor the "feet" get hot enough to do damage. Even after a couple of hours when I forgot I had my unfinished coffee on the warmer it was all good. I love this warmer. It keeps my coffee at just the right drinkable temperature. No more sweet talking my patient husband into warming my coffee in the microwave when it cools off.

It is inevitable that a cup will be left on there for days at some point. Or something heavy will fall on it accidentally and unnoticed. What happens?

This is one of the flaws of this device (that it doesn't shut off after some number of hours of something being on it continuously without that something being lifted off even momentarily). Because of this, I unplug the device each day after I'm done using it, so if there is not a cup of something on it, it's not plugged in.

Does this have a wall plug or usb cord?

It has a wall plug, because a 5V USB Cord doesn't achieve a better heat performance.
