Excellent Saw
Very precise saw. The Japanese have an artistry for these saws. The cut is nice and you can guide it well.

Love the Z-Saw line and this Dozuki.
I've had other Z-saws for years and finally got around to picking this little one up. It cuts fast, tracks more easily than a western push saw (in my experience), and stays sharp for years of steady use. The blades change out quickly and easily. This saw is not for deep cuts, more for joinery like dovetails and smaller tenons. Now, this is NOT a saw for tree live or green trees limbs of branches - it's for dry wood only. It works fabulously in softwoods, but requires a bit more practice in harder woods. The saw can be used on plywood, but unless you have no other choice, I'd avoid doing so. The teeth are impulse/induction hardened so they are VERY hard and stay sharp for a very long time. HOWEVER, because of that hardness, teeth can be broken off or the blade can be snapped if it twists too much - but if either of those happens you're abusing the saw.I highly recommend the Z-Saws to anyone, especially those who are just starting to saw by hand.

Very high quality and extremely sharp
Bought this for various wood projects and so far, it has not let me down. I've had it for several months and used it on a variety of soft and hard woods and I have not been let down yet. Comfortable grip (for being hard plastic like) and very sharp. The cuts are straight and less than a 1/16 inch. I would recommend this to anyone!

Cross-cuts veneer
I bought this saw mainly to cut veneer. I have used a Two Cherries double-sided veneer saw with mixed results. While that veneer saw works fine on ripping veneer, it falls short on cross-cutting veneer, where I've experienced tear out when the teeth of the saw catch on the grain. By comparison, this mini dozuki saw seems to do a fine job with cross-cutting veneer. Its teeth are small enough to saw through, rather than tear through, the veneer, as evidenced by the saw dust that it generates during cross cuts. On the other hand, the mini dozuki saw does not do ripping that well. Part of the problem is the handle faces downwards, making it awkward to use when placed against a straight edge for a long cut. I prefer my old veneer saw for that. I still have one concern about cross-cutting veneer. The blade has a reinforcing rib on the side opposite the teeth and that rib will prevent the blade from lying completely flat against the piece being veneered. Perhaps it won't matter too much, as veneer is thin and the slight inward angle of the blade is apt to be harmless.

Bangerang, Rufio
This saw has changed my life. I literally cannot even tell you who I am anymore. I have been reborn, and into a world where the lion lays with the sheep in euphoric happiness and cooperation. The skies are bluer now than ever before. My tastebuds have been supercharged; my skin feels tingly all through the day; my mind has been freed and I have new purpose and resolve.Really though, this saw is great. It cuts a paper-thin line through wood, which is perfect for accurate joints. Just be sure that you know how small it is though. Read the specs on its dimensions. FABULOUS VALUE at $16 and some change. I want 20 more in varying sizes and blade widths. In a single sentence; "Bangerang, Rufio."

The Japanese Mini Dozuki Panel Saw is a really nice saw.
This is a nice saw! I was able to easily saw this hurricane panel profile with no fixtures, just holding it in my hand, in just a few minutes. The cuts were easy to keep straight with virtually no burr and no binding at the angle I used the saw to cut. I really liked the starter tip that allows to start a cut in the middle of the material your cutting. The saw blade section is nicly wraped in folded paper and slips into a cardboard sleeve that snaps to hold the cover inplace to protect the blade. Very happy with this purchase.

Small saw, excellent quality. CUTS PLYWOOD very well
I absolutely love this saw. It's a small saw but that makes it very easy to use and get precise cuts with. You don't have to fight with a long, wobbly blade and it rarely catches in the wood grain, even on plywood. I've been cutting through 1/2 inch plywood with it for days now with no problems. I honestly don't think I'll ever really want to buy a bigger saw for any reason since this one does such a great job.
