Douglas Laboratories Ultra Preventive 2 Daily | Multivitamin and Mineral Supplement to Support Energy Production, Immune Function, and Overall Health* | 60 Tablets

This vitamin was recommended to me by my dietitian. I have noticed an increase in energy after taking them over an extended period of time, in combination with a balanced diet & exercise. The idea was to further supplement vitamins of which the dietitian felt I may not be consuming enough in my regular diet. As with all vitamins, it is important to take them with food to ensure your body actually absorbs them rather than just passing them through. At the dietitian’s recommendation, I take one in the morning with breakfast & one in the evening with dinner. I expect if you take both at once, your body will most likely not absorb as much (probably why they are formulated as 2 daily instead of putting it all in one tablet!). The vitamins are large, about 2 cm long, but go down easily with water or other beverage. Swallowing them dry, without drinking, may be difficult. I find the outer coating to have a slightly sweet flavor. The primary drawback is the high cost per bottle as compared to other multivitamins, such as Centrum. Also, be aware each bottle contains 60 tablets. At two a day, this means one bottle is equal to a 30 day (1 month) supply.

Douglas Laboratories makes some excellent quality products. Before taking these multivitamins I was experiencing what is known as "floaters" in my eyes. I am 50 years old and my friends and family of my similar age told me that was just a part of getting older. It sure was frustrating for me. I purchased these multivitamins from Douglas and within 2 weeks my floaters were gone. AND they have not resurfaced since. It's been 1 year since I started taking these and I can tell you I have more energy, and less issues. I think that you can certainly get cheaper multivitamins but when I took the cheaper brands I was still dealing with those darn eye floaters.There is a saying, pay now or pay later. I think this is true here. If you pay now for quality supplements it will keep you having to pay later with health issues. Just my humble opinion.

I had previously been taking the Douglas Labs B Complex with Metafolin and felt fabulous while taking it. I decided to switch to the Ultra Preventive 2-A-Day to fill the gaps of what my diet was likely missing. The tablets are a bit too big for me to swallow so I crush them up and add them to applesauce after eating breakfast. I am extremely sensitive to supplements of any kind and this is the only one I take. No side effects at all. I feel more focused, more energized (in a non jittery way), happier and the best of all (and most surprisingly) a huge decrease in menopausal hot flashes. That alone makes it worth every dollar :). Yes, they are more expensive than most vitamins, but consider it an investment in your health. I highly recommend this supplement.

My doctor has had me on this vitamin for a while now, like over two years, and I love it. I really feel energized and rarely get sick, keeps my immune system boosted I think. I have a compromised immune system and have to avoid germs and sick people, this really seems to do the trick. I can actually feel it if I don't take it. I have less energy. I really recommend this product, works great even for long term use.

Although this is a great product, I have decide to take another supplement with Resveratol, Acai and Co-Q10. I realized that in combination with my Douglas Labs Digest Support, I was getting far too much Vit A and E. But I do recommend this product.

Recommended by doctor as a complete balance vitamin. Mentioned that should stick to higher quality supplements. They seem awfully expensive compared to others.

Douglas labs is a great product and being able to order this size on Amazon allows it to be cost effective for great quality product

I hope you will take this product off of evaluation. I have been taking it for 3 years and am very energetic because of it.The other vitamins in the line require taking 6-8 tablets a day, but this one is only 2.
