Beautiful color and great protection
This product is a great alternative to teak oil, which we had originally used to help protect our patio set from the elements. But then after a few months we noticed black spots all over the wood, and it was only then that we learned that the oil was "food" for mold and mildew. After using a teak cleaner to get rid of the black spots and residual oil, we tried the Golden Care Teak Protector and have been very pleased with the results. The color is beautiful, and water beads right up on the finish. The best part was how easy and fast it was to apply and how quickly it dried. A disposable cup to pour out small amounts at a time and a foam brush worked perfectly. Wiping the brush on the edge of the cup first helped remove excess product to prevent drips and brush lines. A little went a very long way, and the protector went on smoothly with no streaks, lines, or uneven color. Everything was completely dry and usable within a couple hours. It was also great to not have to worry about the potential for spontaneous combustion as with oil-based products. We only wish we had known about this product from the start, but we are so happy to have a much easier maintenance option to keep our furniture looking great for the long-term.

Great stuff
I didn't get the 'Golden Care' brand, but I believe that one manufacturer makes the same product and sells it under several different brand names for furniture stores, so it didn't bother me at all.I bought a new teak patio set, assembled it and let it sit outside for 2-3 months (I read somewhere that you should let it be outside for at least 2 weeks before applying a protectant like this). I then washed the set with a soft brush and a bit of Dawn dishwashing liquid, hosed it down and let it dry for a day before getting up early to beat the heat and applying the product. I ran a fine grit sandpaper block over rough patches of wood or areas where there was a bit of staining first. It took me 2 hours to do 6 chairs and a large table, but the product went on easily and I still have 1/2 bottle left for next time.I took the photos during and immediately after the application process. The darker, golden-orange areas were the 'after treatment' shots. The lighter wood areas are the 'before'.It has been about 2 months since applying the protectant now. The set isn't as beautiful-golden as it was right after application, but it definately isn't silvering out like unprotected teak. I'm very happy with the product and will buy it again.---------EDIT: I came back to leave a review and found my review from 8 years ago! I come back every 2 years and use a teak cleaner/brightner product and then apply a coat of this protectant (2 coats on the top as it gets lots of UV exposure). I just added 2 new photos after this year's cleaning (of a now 8 year-old table). The 2 photos that have green at the top of them are the 8 year-old table photos... the others are of the table when it was new. It's hard to tell the difference!I'll keep using this stuff. It does a great job. I might start adding a coat of it every spring with a cleaning/brightening/protectant treament every other year.

Like the color that it adds to the wood
We got this on the recommendation from the furniture store where we bought our teak table. They said that they had always recommended "teak oil" until this product came along. Not knowing much about teak, I took them and the info from the mfg of this product at their word.I tried it on the bottom of the table as they suggested and really liked how it added a richness to the look of the wood. It didn't really change the color - it still looked like teak - it just deepened it. So, I did the whole table with it according to the directions and was very pleased. It applied easily using a small rag and rubbing it on.So, basically this is a protector - protecting against moisture and sun exposure. We'll see how things look after next summer. I'm in WI, so the table is inside for the winter months and will go out in spring. One thing that occured to me after trying the product on the bottom of the table is that I have a place that I can look at the end of next summer to see how it looks without any wear. There will be no water or sun exposure there. If the top and legs look a bit faded compared to that, I can put another coat of the protector on.

2nd purchase
The product works well if you prep the wood properly. It protects well and leaves a nice uniform appearance.

works but does change wood color to a darker kinda artificial honey brown.
we used this on some teak deck furniture that had weathered and bleached but not greyed at all. Pre-treatment, it was kind of a light tan, sandpaper color. It was nice but we knew it would turn gray. I waited till the wood was bleached slightly because I figured this product would darken it. Application was easy, with a cloth and foam brush and it leaves a matte finish. But it does, without any doubt, change the color and make it a little artificial looking. It's not bad but it is different. They call it "honey brown," and it has a slight tint of orange which makes it less appealing. It does look like honey. When it rains, there are spots where water seems to seep in so it may need another coat but these disappear when the product dries. The product works, and I assume it will wear off in about a year when it will need refinishing, and it may naturalize a bit but I'm worried it may be uneven as it weathers. I don't yet know how well it will prevent the teak from greying. Will update. Wanted a finishing paste wax sort of finish w/o any additional colorants but that may be a tall order for an outdoor product that offers UV protection.
