The return of a legend, that can be accepted with a clear conscience. Hard to believe, the band has been around almost as long as I have. TRANCE, as they were called until now, was founded in 1979, a proud 24 years ago. Since then, various albums were released with varying success, the band went through almost all the typical ups and downs of a rock band and now returns under a new and expanded name. And if the music doesn't drip out of the speakers as shallow and slimy as it does with many of their colleagues, but is hard-melodic, coherent and simply rocking, as is the case with TRANCEMISSION without any discussion, then success is actually the logical consequence. Girls, a clear double plus.

Confused by the name?
Made in GER in 199?, Serial# CD-388-4008-2, Playing Time 44:57This album was originally released on vinyl back in 1989. This German heavy-metal band issued 4 albums as TRANCE before changing their name (but not the band members) to TRANCEMISSION and this is their only album under that banner (which is DRASTICALLY different musically from the group TRANCE MISSION, which have a space within their name). They eventually reverted back to the TRANCE name and published a few more albums; they should NOT be confused with another group which has released albums under the TRANCE name as well, whose titles are numbered (e.g. TRANCE 04).Now that we've got that out of the way, let's talk about the content: TRANCE, particularly in their earlier days, were very similar sounding to fellow countrymen SCORPIONS, but without the same talent nor inspiration. They were good albums, combining the guitar sounds of SCORPIONS a la "Animal Magnetism" with vocals reminiscent of a blend between SCORPIONS' Klaus Meine and NAZARETH's Dan McCafferty. This CD, "BIT", sees them returning to a more straightforward rock than their previous effort, "Rockers" by TRANCE (still with me?)The most interesting performances are from guitarist BERGER: no Michael Schenker (but then, who is?), but some decent work nevertheless. Not really imaginative or outstanding, but still enjoyable. These guys could have come a long way if the engineering and production work would have been better.It's worth picking up, but I think you'll be disappointed if you keep making the inevitable comparison with music from SCORPIONS of that era.
