Works well
This tool does what it is supposed to do. It’s weird, but, I kinda love it. Good on the engineers who made this and the manufacturers who made it. Great combination sticker peeler, tape opener and box cutter. All without any real blades.

Almost perfect, needs a clip
I love having this thing in my pocket. I've never been one of those "EDC" knife guys, but this is so lightweight and useful I carry it around the house. The cutting action is smooth as butter on cardboard and tape, better than my old milwaukee fastback razor blade. Safer too. I'm less worried about my kids finding this and playing with it.I've bought several canary cutter knives and this is my favorite. The longer blades aren't really needed and the retractable makes it more useful to throw in a pocket. There's another set of "auto retracting" blade that I didn't care for, it took too much pressure to keep the blade out if i'm breaking down a bunch of boxes. The only complaint is that I wish they made a model with a clip. I would absolutely adore a fastback style canary cutter with a wire style belt/pocket clip. But this, you won't regret it.

Orange sliding piece tends to popout
This review for CANARY retractable box cutter with adjustable long blade. I bought this January 26, 2017 and have been using this almost daily and it's so far held up well but that's only if you are cautious not to lose the orange slider piece and that part is the weak point of this item.Pros:The serrated blade cuts really well, and takes a few extra cuts to go through extra tough/thick cardboard. It's also easily operated with one hand.Con:The orange slider has a locking mechanism and when blade is retracted the orange piece at the very end of the internal groove. There's no mechanism to secure it so if you slide it one step further it'll fall out. The orange piece has two parts as the smaller piece will lock the blade. I recently dropped the locking piece and it broke. I wish the design was more secure in that respect. There is another version of this with a round wheel knob for locking I will now resort to using thought the wheel knob makes the blade less compact where the above reviewed version could be slide in your side pocket with no protrusions. This is a great cardboard knife otherwise and highly recommend. Would like to see a version where the blade would auto lock once you push it out and retract when you press a button kind of like the tape measure used by carpenters.

Safe and Easy to Use. My favorite box cutter.
Pros:- Safe. I don't worry about it slipping and slicing open my hand or leg- Sturdy- I love the bright green color because when cutting the boxes, I can always find it.- Long lasting. I have used it to cut open and break down probably 100 boxes since I got it. It is a life-saverCons:- None!

Great for kids
It's not better than a traditional box cutter or a sharp pocket knife. You can't cut cardboard fast with it. But you can make controlled cuts better. It's a lot of sawing though, so not very efficient. Best for crafts or for kids if you are concerned about safety.

Difficult to keep it in a locked position.
This product is not well made. It quickly loses it locked position. The blade goes back in when it unlocks. It is difficult to handle such a small cutter because this happens. It needs to be larger to have a better handle on this tool. I would not buy it again. I have it in my kitchen drawer but revert to a large cutter I have to open large boxes.L. Henson
