This proves that anybody can write a book and 'Anybody' just did
ANGRY REVIEW - (Update - Oct. 2014)I allowed myself to be swayed into buying this book by ALL the stellar, 5-STAR RATINGS for this book (which were the ONLY ones available when I purchased the book for $20 PRE-ORDER PRICE and $22 for the cookbook -which should be a part of the book). I can not convey how disappointed and angry I became when while reading this book it became apparent that I DON'T THINK ANY of those reviewers had actually READ THE BOOK! Also, please understand that all a verified purchase means is that the book was paid for. And the retail price is actually $19.95 per ISBN 9780983031109 on the back of my book. The writing style is very Trudeauian, as in Kevin Trudeau. It feels as if I'd paid $45 for a Kevin Trudeau book. And I have. Forty-five United States Dollars. If you decide to purchase this book --or even if you just borrow it from someone, I'd be interested to know if you think that's fair price for what you get. (End of Oct 2014 annotation).Honestly, I initially thought of giving this book 2 stars, because(1) while the book is almost entirely fluff, the bibliography has some merit and(2) accepting that I was an IDIOT for buying both the book AND cookbook is just too depressing. In seeing the misrepresented write-ups masquerading as reviews, I will give the first HONEST review by someone who's not getting paid to do this:When skimming the book, all but the table of contents in the first 25 pages of the book is purely anecdotal fluff. She makes statements like, " The annual death rate resulting from improper use of prescription drugs equals that of breast cancer!" Yet there's not a single reference in sight. Strangely, she has reference from the foreward, written by someone else, but not HER work. No references at all for the first chapter. Not in the chapter, end notes, nowhere. She talks about "all milk and milk products (except organic raw milk) are just plain bad for the human body". Though her cookbook recipes require [canned] evaporated milk. For all the facts she sling around, her references, footnotes and end notes are very scarce. Even the mention of Natural News (people who, more or less, do their homework) are still hit-or-miss.What's so glaringly obvious that it can't be overlooked is that the book should, without question, be condensed from 431 to roughly 150 pages. The book is an anecdotal nightmare, stating unsupported 'facts' and sprinkling random biblical scriptures to, perhaps support her '15 years of research'.In an effort to make sense of the disaster I called a wasted $45, is a phenomenon occurring over the last 15 years. The 'layperson', a group to which I belong, now has access to infinitely more information than one did '15 years ago'. This very basic fact is some how completely lost on the author, and it's obvious in her book. She could benefit from a Victoria Boutenko writer's workshop. This author curiously released the second half of this book as a cookbook (2003) ( The Yeast-Free Kitchen: Recipes to Help You Achieve Victory over the Yeast-Beast, Candida Albicans ) before Yeast Beast was completed? And now that Yeast Beast is out, the cookbook isn't even IN the book! There is little integrity in this work and it is not dignified.- The Body Ecology- The Missing Diagnosis- Yeast Connection- You Can Heal Your Life- Excitotoxins- Sugar Blues- Caffeine Blues- Life Without Bread and- The phMiracleare EXCELLENT books in that they include a ton of useful information by people who actually put the effort into creating a useful product and none of them are nowhere NEAR $45. Whether you agree with their work or not, you won't end the book feeling like, wait. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! So far, I'm the second (honest) reviewer to feel this way about this book. If content matters at all to you, pass over this perfunctory attempt at a quick buck or fame and save your money. Finally, one of the most peculiar things about this peculiar books is that it starts off with the Ghandi quote, "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."The author is seeking to devour a naive audience. Please don't fall prey.

A Life-Changing Book
Jane Remington's Recaging The Beast has changed the way I look at my diet, my lifestyle and my world. Ms. Remington makes a very powerful and persuasive argument that all diseases, not only in us humans but in animals and even plants, originate from a fungus. With over 100,000 species of fungi in the world, "the strain called Candida albicans is the one that gives us so much grief (p. 26)." To further quote the author (p. 176):The death certificate may read "heart attack," "kidney failure," "pneumonia," "liver disease," "cancer," etc. but you can be sure Candida albicans was there first and created the environment needed for the disease to develop. Again, it is the "disease behind disease."The book goes to great detail to explain how our lifestyles "far from the way our Creator intended us to live (p. 33)" have led us on a road of disease and destruction. More importantly, however, the book provides a path towards a healthy lifestyle. The author provides wide-ranging tips for better living, including a yeast-free diet, with recommendations as detailed as product names and with a list of foods to eliminate. She also provides natural strategies for fighting back against diseases instead of simply relying on pharmaceuticals, chemotherapy and the like, confirmed by her own experience as a cancer survivor.Best of all, Ms. Remington gets her point across without concentrating too much on the technicalities or using difficult language. Anyone can read and understand the book and its significance for his or her life. The author exceeds her goal from page 22 of completing "a book on the subject of yeast to be written by a layperson for the layperson."This book will benefit anyone who reads it and puts its suggestions into practice. I highly recommend the book for everyone, layperson or otherwise.

Very Convincing
I have become very convinced that yeasts, molds, and fungi, are the underlying problem for a multitude of diseases; not only in plants and animals but in us humans, especially auto-immune type diseases. underlying the proliferation of yeast problems are the vast amounts of wheat and sugar products sold to the public. If you look in any modern market you will realize that a large share of the products marketed to the public are made out of cheap wheat with cheap sugars and/or salt added for flavor and it makes up the majority of our calories. Think about it! Breads, cookies, crackers, chips, pasta, etc., and these products are then packaged and sold with a large profit margin for multinational corporations. These products not only pack on the pounds, they may also be addictive! If you take the information in this book to heart, it may just change your life dramatically for the bettor.

good knowledge
I enjoyed most of the book. I get lost in some of the technical language, but for the most part the writer spoke in easy terms. Because I am a believer in Jesus Christ and the Bible in it's literal meaning, much of the writer's comparisons to biblical content was invalid. To her credit, she never claimed it to be truth, only her opinions. I am interested in trying the diet to see how it works for me, and I believe her information on fungus is point on.

Jane Remington's Recaging the Beast is the most informative and inspiring book to be read!! You will NOT be sorry that you purchased it. Jane has invested a lot of time, energy, and finances in the writing of this book so that others can truly understand what we are doing to our own bodies. I am very thankful that I found this book and I would recommend it to ANYONE that would read it and take the information to heart.

Impressive Work pointing to the No 1 cause of Chronic Disease
Excellent and Comprehensive. Actually goes much wider than 'just' yeast. I picked up a lot of useful information from this book and it served as a great reminder of the concept that 'yeast causes everything' (unless proven otherwise)
