No problems with getting the DVD's to play properly at all!
I bought both seasons of Black Sheep, and now that I've finished both of them I can say that there was not one single problem with any of them. The video and audio were perfect. I sometimes think that when you read reviews people write about how much trouble they experience with disks, the problems are really only with their own DVD or Blu-ray players! I had experienced these problems somewhat often with my old Samsung Blu-ray players (Samsung stopped selling these disk players years ago, but a lot of the machines are still around). Today, I have two Sony UBP- X700M players that I bought here on Amazon, and I never have problems with any disks at all, for what it's worth.Be aware of one interesting thing. Season 2 disks are hard-locked in the original 4:3 video template only. You cannot stretch the images on these DVD disks to 16:9. One other thing -- on Season 2 disks, there are no closed-caption 'subtitles'. But, the audio tracks are so good that if you are a conversational English speaker you should have no problem understanding anything at all. Now, enjoy! :)

Series well done.
This is great for anybody who ever wanted to be a fighter pilot or join the Marine Corps. I am both of these. Love the planes love the tropics love the whole story of Pappy Bowington in his black sheep squadron. Watching the show, we will not forget what these young men did during World War II against the Japanese Imperial empire. Thank you to our servicemen and great program.

The Best Option — With All the Great Scenes
For “Black Sheep Squadron” fans, this “best option” is now available. For years I’ve had the version “as-aired” on The History Channel. It was fine — better than nothing — but the image quality wasn’t great … and it wasn’t complete. As someone who watched the series when it first aired, I knew that many scenes had been trimmed. One immediate example — as exhibited in a couple screenshots above — was the P-40 dogfight scene in the pilot episode “The Flying Misfits.”That exciting scene is restored in this version — I hadn’t seen it for years … but remembered it and knew it was missing.I’m looking forward to seeing other missing scenes again. Just holds together better …Another key point: The picture quality is SO much better. SO much. The bottom line: If you’re a “Black Sheep Squadron” fan, this offering is well-worth the money.

Every episode you remember
Sharp image good sound it is somewhat sillier than I remember but the people who lived in combat didn't need to be re traumatized and I respect that

Came fairly quick
It's a shame this show didn't last longer (season/episode wise). Another old show that I enjoyed watching growing up!!!!

Another victim of Women Against Violence on TV!
I enjoyed re-watching the series and seeing all the old actors, once more. The one thing that I was disappointing about the set was that when it aired on the History Channel, in the 90's, the station had 30 second spots with actual survivors of the Black Sheep!!! (Or as they preferred to call themselves ... Boyington Bastards)I tried finding a DVD or even a VHS of the "Spots" but I never did find one. (Anybody out there, ever find one?)Of course, the seller wasn't offering it with the set so ... No complaints about them ;)On a personal note: I always wondered why it was taken off the AIR, in the middle of the second season. If I understood my "Google search", it was because that during that period, in time, the watchdogs where very sensitive about violence on TV and Baa Baa Black Sheep Squadron was deems TOO VIOLENT!Or is that just an Urban Myth??? I'm let you readers decide which you prefer to believe.Bye for now .... and ..... Be Safe Everybody!
