Whats its maximum water depth reading please and is it only suitable for fresh waters like rivers and lakes at low speeds 3 - 5mph max on eboat?

Hi we use it in fresh and sea water and it's a great product. We do speeds of 15 - 20mph and it works fine. We've been in depths of 80ft and it works great, so it probably would work in deeper water but I am not sure. I would recommend this product. Hope this helps

Is the functionality adversly impacted by higher speed

All sonar modules are affected by higher speed. Usually because of the turbulence around the prop when the the transducer is stern mounted. I personally do not rely on the sonar at high speed because the information provided at high speed is ancient history.
