Very reliable
This is the second thermometer of this type I have bought in 15 years. The first was good, but we lost it in a move. Very accurate.

Replaced my old one (from 2005) for my daughter that's not even 2 yet!
The first one I compared it to a hospital one made by the same company Exergen! I had that one from 2005 till recently I was finally having problems with it. I had bought it for my grandma originally! Lol My baby gets uti's cuz of health issues and her temperature spikes up out of nowhere and my old one wasn't giving me the correct temperature vs an oral one I just bought for back up. This one is works great. I compared it with my oral thermometer and the hospital one again and it was reading as closely to that both! I love it so I can check her temperature fast and easy so that she won't be bothered by it. (She's not 2 yet so getting a temperature is not easy especially at a young age!!!) So yes to me this was worth buying! Hope it last as long which was about 16 or 17 years! If it doesn't not lastlonger than a year rewrite my review!

Good once you learn the trick
This works great once you figure out how to use it, which is not as obvious as I thought it would be. I kept getting stuck in memory mode and the instructions are not helpful to get out, once I figured out it needs to be off before placing it on the forehead to take a reading. I love it now but was very close to returning it because when you have a sick screaming child it is very frustrating to not know how to make the thermometer work. Also a weird angle for taking a temp on your self but does work accurately once your able to take a reading.

Multiple functions and screens. Too hard to read manual.
I hate this product and am outside of the return policy. I hope shoppers read the product description before purchasing.Correct my fault for miserably suffering with a product that does not meet my standards of health care. The button pressed once gives me Celsius. There are 5 screens or so that do I don't know what. The manual has a font so tiny I had to go local and purchase a magnifying glass.Once I found out how to gauge Fahrenheit I was satisfied but the reading was inaccurate. As an experiment, I went to my doctor later in the day. I checked my temperature in office, mine were 5 degrees below the doctor's office reading. My initial desire for this purchase was was American certified and American made. Crucial with last year's pandemic. Altogether forgot to write my review after purchase in mid 2020.

ONLY thermometer worth having!
We were gifted one for our oldest and needed to replace after many years. We made the mistake of falling for the hype of multi-mode and new features and tried alllll the new ones, including Baby Frida.None of them gave the same reading twice even if taken back to back.Never had an issue with Exergen so we bought another and it has been just as fantastic as our 2015 was.Don't waste your time and money on the other popular brands. When your kid is sick, you need a reliable reading.

Cannot get the battery cover off
Bought this over a year ago. The battery has finally died. However, I cannot get the cover for the battery compartment off. I have officially shredded my fingers trying to do so. My husband busted out his tools to try to get the thing off. And neither one of us can. I love this thermometer, it’s the second one I’ve owned (my oldest is 11). But i have a 3 yo with a fever and can’t change the battery because I can’t get the cover off. So I’m really not being happy with that. I also now require some bandaids after the damage it did to my hands with trying to get the cover off.
