This pedestal is exactly as described. It is lightweight and definitely needs the sand put inside for extra strength and stability, so don't forget that, especially if you're putting something heavy on it. It's a good color, and it will work beautifully for what I bought it for (to use in the garden for an armillary to sit on) Do be careful when attempting to get the black plastic plug out and don't stab yourself with a sharp object like I did. It's a bit of a stinker to get out. All considered, I think it's worth the money and am quite happy with it 😊 *Edited with photo*

Nice coloring, sturdy construction. I use my 2 as end tables on both sides of my bed.

I ordered the item even though the reviews were not that great. I am somewhat satisfied. It is OK looking however for the price I think the manufacturer could make it look a little nicer. There is a seam on each side where the two halves were joined together which is the most noticeable thing. I think it would be perfect to use in photography.

Really love the look of this in my garden. Has a handy large fill hole on the bottom - I just took it to the nearest beach and filled it up with sand - definitely needs to be weighted, or it will fall over in the wind. The dark grey color really makes it look like real granite once it's in place. Very happy with this.

This isn't a slam against the product; I just wasn't thinking about the material of construction when I bought it. Just know that if you put it in an outside garden where mine is, you're going to have to anchor/stabilize it, because it's very light. And if you have pets inside, they can tip it over easily. Even a good breeze could tip it. But it looks great in my garden. I have stabilized it and now have a fern on it, sitting high in the garden looking wonderful. Great way to add vertical interest to the flower garden without spending a lot of money.

For my purposes of using them for a play, they are a gift from heaven. Love the look and they are heavy enough they don't need to have sand in them to weight them down. However if you wanted to, there is a covered hole at the base to do so. Nothing bad to say about them, except I would like to possibly buy them in white. But this works very well too.

I was looking for columns to set mummy heads on for our Halloween party in Oct. I purchased one column. I am very happy with this product. Because it is poly (plastic) it is light weight and easy to move around, but does not look cheap. The bottom has a plug to add sand for stability. I liked the product so well I ordered another one. The column was packaged well and delivered in a time manner.

Not at all what I expected. This is cheap plastic with obvious lines and splotches from the mold it was made in. It's very lightweight, which makes it unstable for putting objects on. Maybe from a distance it would be appealing, but I intended to use it as a plant stand beside my desk and it's cheapness is all too obvious. Definitely not worth $40.

We needed a plinth to mount a lovely brass sundial that our son bought us for our Golden wedding anniversary. Saw this and it is just right. Free delivery when we bought it. It looks really authentic, although of course you can make out the molding joint if you look carefully. I only half filled it with sand as this keeps the centre of gravity lower and improves stability. Very pleased. :-)

Beautiful and realistic look

It looks like stone, but it is made out of a light resin. It is shockingly light, actually, so much so that I was concerned about its stability. Fortunately, the bottom has a removable cap so that you can fill it with ballast of some kind. We decided to use a bag of river-rocks and filled it to about 1/4 full, and now it is exceptionally stable. Considering the material I found it a tad expensive, but still far cheaper that any other item I found that fulfilled the same function. I am happy with it.

I have to say this column is very realistic. The reviewer who said it needed to be weighted down was quite right. However in order to weight it down you would need to remove the black plastic plug in the top. That proved difficult for me and I had to destroy the plug but I have now put a shallow dish on top of the column so it becomes a tall bird bath.
