Works great at 1440p 144hz
I use this to output 1440p at 144hz to my monitor. It works great with not flickering or screen flashing. Itโs compatible with DisplayPort and easy to use as itโs plug and play. Itโs a very small device and feels like itโs made of quality materials.

Good for direct GPU USB-C
High quality and works well, used it for my valve index on my laptop that has a USB-C that was direct into my GPU and let me use my VR headset on it. (asus rog strix scar)

Finally a suitable dongle! Runs Valve Index on any refresh rate.
I've got an Asus GX502GW laptop with rtx2070 gpu and after I received the Valve Index headset I was struggling to find a correct dongle for a DP output. The main issue is that there's no thunderbolt in it whereas most of the dongles are meant to be used with a thunderbolt port and even if they claimed they supported DP Alt mode they didn't work. There's only HDMI and usb-c DP Alt mode outputs in my laptop (it seems that the usb-c port is just a virtual link port, but I'm not sure) Can confirm that this dongle runs Valve Index through DP alt mode output with no issues at all. No image artifacts, no limits. Works well on any refresh rate set (80/90/120/144hz) looks well-build and overall is a great deal for the money. It does run hot (I'd say around 110-120ยฐF) and I've been using it for only a couple of days and some people said it fails eventually but time will tell. Make sure that your usb-c output has a DP logo nearby and it is connected to the gpu if you're in the same situation. Anyways it completely worth the value. Highly recommended.

Works w/ HP Reverb G2 on my ASUS G733x Laptop
Works with HP Reverb G2 on Windows 11 laptop (ASUS G733X plugged into the Thunderbolt Display Port) Perfect for my flight simulator needs. Make sure you install the Oasis driver on Steam when using this with Windows 11.

Works fine, on some systems. Did not work on my MacBook Pro
I bought this for use with a gaming laptop. I have a 3440x1440@144hz display, and the HDMI 2.0 port on my laptop would not allow for the full 144hz refresh rate. So I bought this and it worked perfectly on my gaming laptop. (2021 Asus G513-ES96) The type-c port on my laptop is display port capable. I bought another one for my M1 Mac Mini and it also worked fine on the type-c port. However, for some reason it would not work on either of the two MacBook Pros that I have. Both are 2019 16" models with the radeon pro 5500m. When the adapter is connected to the MacBook Pro, the laptop screen will go black for a second and then come back on, but the external monitor does not register any input. The description for the product listing states that it works with MacBook Pro, but I was not able to get it to do so. Wasn't a big deal for me because I bought it for the gaming laptop and the M1 Mac mini.

Unidirectional USB C to DisplayPort 1.4 Adapter
Perfect Solution. Also purchased 3' DB cable. It makes a short/neat connection to laptop and external monitor.

Works with Linux Kernel v5+
There is no noticeable lag or graphical artifacts on Linux with this adapter. I'm very pleased. Currently I am running with 3 monitors: two external (HDMI and DP) 1080p monitors at 60 Hz and the built-in laptop monitor. Unfortunately, I do not have a 4k or 8k monitor to test with. Details: I have this adapter working on a Dell Latitude 7480 with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, but I had to manually update the kernel to 5.1.16. Currently Ubuntu 19.04 (Disco Dingo) uses a 5.0 series kernel, so I recommend that Ubuntu users, who want to use a stock install, try that release. The adapter also seemed to work on kernel 4.20+, but my machine froze when changing the display setup in Gnome. YMMV The adapter body is made of aluminum and does get warm. In other words it is not a passive adapter.

Does Not Work With Oculus Rift S
Upon receiving this, I had hope Iโd be able to use this product with my Oculus Rift S on my laptop, which does not have any DisplayPort plug ins. I had one USB C port available on my laptop so I thought, while reading the description on the product, that it would work. Knowing itโd be compatible with my devices, I thought itโd be no problem, unfortunately, I was mistaken. When plugging in, I immediately found out it was incompatible and kept getting errors stating โUnknown USB Deviceโ, โPort Reset Failed.โ I didnโt understand why so I followed hundreds of steps online and figured maybe it was my drivers, even downloaded a driver booster, and had no luck. Iโm certain my graphics drivers are updated I had even looked online for that too, yet nothing seemed to pop up and I was still stuck trying technique after technique to try to get this to work. Spending hours on hours of my time doing this, it turned out terrible, and I feel ultimately defeated. I had no clue how to get this to work with my VR. All in all, not such a great experience, I regret this.

Works great with Oculus Rift S on gaming laptop.
I purchased this product to use with my Oculus Rift S on my new gaming laptop (ASUS FX506IU) which has a USB-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 capabilities and it works great! The headset comes up as "Connected" much faster than it does on my PC and during gameplay I notice no difference whatsoever between my laptop and PC. From what I've seen this is one of the only adapters that seems to work for this headset, and for the price it seems like a pretty good deal! Highly reccomend for anyone in the same situation as me.

69/69 would buy again
I bought another adapter that didn't work for my Rift s / Scar 3. Returned it and got this and it works flawlessly! Feels very solid and I'm not worried about it breaking any time soon. It also works for the usb c port on my rtx 2080, so if you're looking at this for VR it's a safe bet. Just make sure your USB C port is: A) a DP out or thunderbolt B) connected to your gpu, not your cpu's graphics. Some laptops do this. I also noticed that it gets pretty warm when in use, but not warm enough to make me concerned about its lifespan.

Works with HP Reverb G2!
I recently bought a 14' Ryzen Razer Blade (2021) and could find no definite confirmation that my HP Reverb G2 VR unit would be compatible with it, as the laptop lacks at DisplayPort. However, I ordered this little bad boy in the hopes that it would work through one of the USB-C ports, and presto, it works like a treat! No idea how long it will last, but today, it has given me great joy.

Finally! Something that works!
I have been trying to find a way to use the Oculus Rift S on my Gaming Laptop that only has HDMI, the Rift has Display Port. But what an ordeal.... I bought two different brand HDMI to Display Port adapters, one was $68 and the other $89 and neither worked.... Then someone suggested this, since my Laptop has Thunderbolt USB C This should work, and it does! Even better than my desktop PC, Elite Dangerous boots up in less than 1/2 the time and the graphics are amazing! Now I can take my Rift to a friends house and use it with the laptop! When the Covid-19 lock-down is over that is...
