I would give it more stars if I could. My son was prescribed L-methylfolate calcium 15mg daily due to a genetic condition that prevents him from metabolizing folate normally into serotonin precursors, and predisposes him to depression. He is a vegetarian, so he refuses to take gelatin capsules. I'm not sure whether that played a role in the cost at the pharmacy, but anyway, when I went to pick up his Rx, which was dispensed as tablets, the cost was around $115 for a 30-day supply. (This product costs under $40 for a 90-day supply, so that theoretically saves us around $1200 a year.) Insurance won't pay for it, as it is considered a "medical food." Sooo... I was very happy to find this product. We brought the "Our Daily Vites" L-methylfolate calcium 15mg vegetarian capsules to his MD, who said it is exactly the same as the Rx version, and he was delighted to be able to recommend it to his other patients, some of whom have been skipping it as it is not affordable, and others who have been paying the exorbitant price at the pharmacy. No side-effects. As to whether it works, his mood does seem improved to me, but the supplement is intended to improve the effectiveness of SSRIs (which have never worked for him in the past, likely due to his genetic mutation) and he has not started taking them yet. I'll try to remember to update the review after we know the answer to that question.

This L-Methylfolate is a good value compared to others I have tried and seems to be effective. It is also nice to have it shipped directly to me on a monthy/bi-monthly basis. I no longer have to spend a ridiculous amount of time scanning the large, overcrowded shelves at Walmart trying to find the product.

Capsules are small and easy to swallow. They are supposed to help with absorption of my psychiatric medicines in my brain. Can’t tell if they help or not. Took the prescription L-Methylfolate that has an extra molecule. Cannot tell one way or the other. The prescription is extremely costly, so sticking with these. Taking anything non prescription that will help

I really like that these are smaller capsules, very easy to swallow. In comparison to the other high dollar brands I have purchased, I have had better gut digestion with this brand. I’ve got a sister whom has the same gene deficiency as me, we just found out we are both taking this brand from the same seller. I will continue to buy this brand in the future. I definitely will recommend this companies products. Also, it is a very affordable price. I live close to the manufacturer and my order is at my door the next day. Very convenient for when I forget I am running low or out of vitamins. Big thanks to seller/ manufacturer. Great product!

Not sure if the brand will be up to the efficacy of previously prescribed tablets. It is too early to know. I hope these tablets work because they are less expensive.Good

I like this product. I had a Gene Swab done at the lab and it came back that I do not produce L-Methelfolate. My doctor suggested I take it everyday. I take it and it took a bit but I feel better and my mood seems better. Many people don't produce or absorb this supplement. It was good information to know and now that I know, I can help my body and mood with this supplement.

Luckily I came across an article for an l-methylfolate product. Given it's just processed folate and B12, I gave it a try, because the side effects are so limited. WOW. AMAZING. Within a week (15mg per day) I had my life back. I still get anxious but it's like all of a sudden it's not so bad. I can laugh, smile and be happy. I'm a better husband and father. Anyone who is struggling with thoughts of low self worth, anxiety or depression, it is worth considering trialling this drug. I wouldn't say that if the side effects weren't so limited: it's just folate after all!"

This is the best price I've seen so far. It is a bit concerning that these pills have a yellow powder on them and into the bottle. I'm a bit concerned about that. The other companies' I've purchased from didn't have that. The capsules are tiny. I haven't had a blood test to check my folate levels.
