I LOVE this Small Heater Under My Office Desk!
I bought a few of these Lasko MyHeat Personal Space Heater, Compact Heaters in both Black and the white. - I bought my 1st one of these in September of 2018 and it is STILL working! - I needed a bit of heat for under my chilly home office desk and thought this was a good size to try. - I liked it so much that I bought a few more to use as spares for when this one would eventually quit working. - Amazingly, this 1st little heater is STILL working and it is now January of 2026! WOW! - I have been using this Lasko MyHeat Heater ALL DAY, EVERY DAY for about 7 and a half years now! - I do have my husband use his garage air compressor to blow out any dust or dog hair about 3 or 4 times a year. - I still have not had to use the other spares I bought, because this one has never quit working, which is amazing! - I think the Lasko MyHeat is one of the best small heaters I have ever bought. - It takes the chill out from under my desk but does not make it too overly warm.. - I even use during most of summer too, as my home office stays pretty cool even in Summer. - If you want a nice, reliable small heater for under the desk use, I highly recommend this one! - I absolutely LOVE my little Lasko MyHeat Personal Space Heater!

A Superb space heater that provides super energy efficiency at a great price! Highly Recommended!
On the cold nights My Heat warms my backside while I watch TV or read in bed, and in the morning it takes the chill off before you get up. I actually sometimes use it for just a minute as a bedwarmer by holding it under the covers a minute when I first get in...Of course, you don't want to do that and leave it unattended anywhere where it could turn over or the airflow would be disrupted so be prudent. I actually now enjoy the cold weather and look forward with a smile to turning off the heat pump and turning on My Heat for the evening. Also, during the day when it is cold near your desk this really makes you feel cozy and snug. You may have to experiment to see how and where you want the heat, but it is just enough...for me anyway, especially, compared to the days I used to warm myself with a candle in the guardhouse in the snow in Germany. Next to that it is like the sun itself. A critical feature is that is uses only 200 watts. That is a tiny amount of energy for such comfort. I live in a net zero energy house powered by solar and I have a game of trying to use the least kwh and have the maximum comfort living on exactly what I produce. The My Heat has probably saved me 100 kwh in just one month AND made me more comfortable when compared to the last month when I used the heat pump in the frigid weather to try to keep warm. To use the heat pump I had to try to raise the whole room temperature up to near 80 to try to feel warm, and I would still feel chilled. With the radiant heat of My Heat when the sun goes down I let the room temp drop and don't turn on the heat pump until the sun comes up the next day and like the room cooler so I can enjoy having My Heat right up next to me giving a really toasty feeling. So, you see this is the ultimate heating device that "spot" heats a microclimate near you instead of trying to heat the whole room or house, and the other space heaters I looked at were TOO powerful. If you use a normal space heater it can burn 15 kwh at 1500 watts output in 10 hours compared to 2 kwh with My Heat, and the bigger space heaters are maybe putting out too much heat if you have another source of home heating to keep the temp of the whole house at a certain level. The price is FABULOUS too. Pricing under $18 makes for a small investment for such great utility. When is the last time you spent $20 that could save you hundreds of dollars? Mine has paid for itself in one month in savings on electricity and made me HAPPY and warm. The unit is well built, tastefully and artistically designed, easy to keep clean and after a day or two of operation the faint plastic odor is gone for good which is very important for such an intimate heater. I have had some other brands of plastic space heaters that smelled strongly of plastic indefinitely. I expect My Heat to last a long time, compared to a heat pump it has few moving parts. If you think about it if you lower your thermostat and cut your electric heat pump use in half perhaps that expensive unit will last years longer too so you can't even calculate the total savings from using My Heat as a spot heater. I bought the My Heat because I was SHOCKED at my electrical usage last month during a polar vortex day when I used 10 times as much energy to heat my room as a normal day, and at that same rate I would have spent a LOT more on my power bill. Heat pumps just don't work efficiently when the outdoor temperature drops below 35-40 degrees so having an ancillary heat source during those times is essential to help stay comfortable until the outdoor temperature comes up a little. In comparison we are having another polar vortex today a month later, and I am keeping warm and snug with My Heat on my desk blowing on my hands and face a gentle warm breeze and will only run the heat pump enough to use maybe 3 kwh today...probably a tenth of what I used on a similar day before My Heat arrived. I highly recommend My Heat to keep your personal space warm, happy and content! Please be aware that some other reviewers have mentioned that their My Heat overheated when the knocked it over on its face and perhaps got hot enough to deform the plastic. This is an electrical heating device so please be cautious and make sure it stays upright. It is pretty hard to get it so close it will burn you, but I would be mindful about it. The front grill actually has never gotten so hot it scaled my fingers or hurt me even when touching them after full operation so I think the dangers are minimal.

A small cute personal heater
The order came in quickly. To my surprise, UPS even delivers on Saturdays. I was happy to just open the door and saw the package right in front of my eyes. The heater and cord were packed in a plastic bag sealed with tape around outside so that they would not move around during shipping, I guess. But I don't know why it's necessary. I hope it was not a product returned by others. But seeing that the front of the heater was sealed with a sticky plastic, it may be a brand new one. It is really a "personal" heater as it's small and easy to carry around. I bought a white one that has white color in the front with a red button and black backside. I tried it at home while I was meditating on the floor, and it worked fine. i will take it to the office tomorrow to try out. When I was sitting on the floor, I put it about 3 feet away from me where I could still enjoy the heat in the early morning when it is relatively cold around. If I stay too far away from it, maybe 4 feet away, it could feel like cold draft. That may be because the heat generated is not enough to warm up a wider area if the environment is cold. It could also be because the fan itself is not powerful enough to blow hot air farther away. But can't complain about it because it is supposed to be a "personal" heater. I think if it is used in an office, in a smaller area, such as in a cubicle or under the desk where the hot air can circulate within a rather closed area, it would be very effective in keeping the area warm. The back of the heater remained cold that still can be touched, even after it has been on for a while, although the front could be hot, but not to the extent it's going to burn the hands. I didn't give it 5 stars only because I wish it could oscillate to spread out the warm air evenly around. if I let it blow on me directly, I wonder if it would dry the air and eventually dry my skin. So I will take it to the office to put on the floor, or on the desk facing a little away from my face.

PERFECT for LOW WATTAGE HEAT on OVER-CROWDED RECPTACLES! (And Mushrooms) +1yr UPDATE
I sat here for 20 minutes trying to find something to replace this, then realized, WHY?? This is a nearly 2 year later update. I used this the 1st year for growing mushrooms. I had a commercial stainless steel prep table that I closed the center area up with tyvec and attempted to simulate the perfect temp for FOURTEEN 5-gallon buckets of mycelium inoculated straw. While my mushroom experiment failed miserably, the heater DID in fact keep the temps EXACTLY where my thermostat was set. I used a separate thermostat. This heater has NO THERMOSTAT. I set this heater aside till last week when my heat pump failed in the dead of winter. I need a way to keep my bathroom warm till my new mini-split is installed in 2 weeks. I just replaced the carpet in my bathroom, and my pitbull loves to shred carpet, so door has to remain closed. This is PERFECT! Its 200 watts. That's EXACTLY what I wanted. A LOW TEMPERATURE heater that won't overload my already maxed out receptacles. It hasn't done its job because I have been turning it on and off to save electricity. I was thinking it was 750 watts, but in reality, its only 200 watts, so if left on 24/7 there is no reason this little wonder won't keep that 5x9 foot room perfectly warm! When I would leave it on overnight, it was warm the next morning. So for the rest of the week its ON. I rested it on a metal NO TRESPASSING sign, and its laying on the carpet under the sink pointing at the toilet. Between this little cutie and the heated Bidet seat, I should be good to go. :) I can't say enough good things about this heater. Use it for heat in places where you have too many things plugged in. Thats its BEST application. A standard outlet is 15A, which = 1500 watts. Most space heaters (95%) are 1500 watt heaters. So, using ANYTHING ELSE in that outlet is a sure-fire way to catch your house on fire. While typing this, 2 fire trucks passed my home. Overloading receptacles is DANGEROUS. This coming from a contractor who works with electricity, and former EMS. This heater is 200 watts. Well below the maximum. Low draw, slow heat. Hope this helps someone out there. If so, please hit that HELPFUL button beside my review.

Just what I wanted
Good: Very small and only 200 watts. I have a space heater already but it is 1000-1500 watts and a bit too powerful for my tiny room. So wanted this one to just maintain a temp and not blast me with heat. It won't suddenly heat up the room a lot but it will keep the temp comfortable for 5 hours using the same amount of electricity as the other one uses in just one hour. The cord is decently long, 6 ft. I put it up on a stepstool because it is so tiny (6 in tall and 4 in wide) that I was afraid I might trip on it! It isn't super high tech but since it is only 200 watts, it doesn't need a thermostat or anything. It supposedly has overheat protection but doesn't seem to have tip over shutoff.

This PERSONAL heater works amazingly for years.
I see a lot of whining about this heater not heating an entire room/closet/bathroom. You do see it is 200 watts right? This is not a SPACE heater this is a PERSONAL heater. The top rated SPACE heater on Amazon (lasko tower) runs at 1500 watts. That is over 85% less power used. I have used this exact model for 4 years now in my office for 6-8 hours a day every single week day (I'm a cold person - sue me). No issues with tripping the breakers (and we all use heaters). This is meant to be by your side or aimed at your hands/feet. This is not going to sit 5 ft away and keep you warm unless you keep the door closed for an hour or more. This has been the perfect solution to keep my extremities warm without having to heat my entire office up. I even use this in the summer when the rest of the office has the AC set at a low temperature. It is amazing that on top of wading through the fake reviews we also have to read through ignorant people bitching about a product they didn't bother to read the description on or have ridiculous expectations of. $20 bucks is well worth the FOUR years I have so far out of this and it is still going strong.

Quiet but not powerful enough
I bought this for use in a lecture hall that is always freezing cold (literally in the 40's sometimes). This is great because it is quiet and it pulls less electrical current than a regular mini-space heater so it does not trip the breaker on my row of "desks" and it cools down within a few minutes so I can put it in my backpack and carry with me without melting or burning anything. The problem is that it is not enough to keep me warm. I keep it about a foot from my feet and it kind of burns my shins so I have to keep moving them around but the heat does not extend up to my knees or the sides of my legs/feet. It is better than nothing and helps my toes not go numb as often (I have to take my shoe off an put my toes directly in front of heater about two inches from coil), but it is really not powerful enough in my opinion to even be called a personal heater. I would say it's more like a "one body part at a time" heater. Also, it does not have an automatic shut-off if you tip it over so I could see how you might burn or melt carpet or furniture, etc if it got kicked over or against something. If you are not using it in frigid, open conditions, I think it probably will be better for you.

Punches way above its weight class while not tripping the power
I live in an older place that wasn't designed for high powered devices (heaters and acs). It is insanely difficult to find a heating device that doesn't do this and then I found this tiny little heater that solved every issue. This tiny little heater can warm my medium sized room in less than 30 minutes (make sure your door does not leak too much air). Even faster when you pair it with an air circulator. No more icky coldness on your hands and toes! My fiance loves this device and hogs it for herself. There is no tip over protection but it also means you can position the fan in various ways without worry. The small form factor of it makes it very easy to move around. One small issue I had was the smell when I first started using the heater. It almost smelled like burning rubber. After two days, it went away. I googled online and found that the energy cost for this heater is insanely low. I believe it costs roughly 2 pennies an hour to run, which is better than almost every other heater on the market. Buy this product if you want an insanely efficient heater that doesn't fight with your ancient home wiring.

Toasty!
I am a sucker for heat, so when it starts getting cold out, I can never find ways to keep myself warm. My Mom tells me I should have been born in the rainforest and some of my friends think I am a lizard person, or cold hearted, because I am always cold. My office at work also has zero air flow, and I am pretty sure they still have the AC on (Its almost mid November). Needles to say, my office is an ice box. I purchased this little guy with the hopes that it would keep my fingers from turning into icicles. So far, it has exceeded my expectations and I am pretty sure, that although this is a personal heater, its is actually warming this tiny little room I get to call my office. I am planning on bringing this little thing everywhere with me. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Small and QUIET!
Nearly silent, puts out enough heat for me under my desk to take the chill off.

Perfect for the car
It is small and perfect for the winter in the car. I bought it to hook it up to my Jackery power station. It is so nice! Everyone needs one.

Great!
This is perfect. I can run it from my Jackery 290 (which only runs low wattage stuff). Glad to have a low wattage heater. It consumes 1/10th of what a typical 1500-watt space heater does. It is hard to find something that will run on a backup battery supply. For one - or a few people - to use, it pumps out quite a bit of heat. Very happy.
