Whenever I seen a DK book with a subject that interested me, I would tell myself “I’m just going to look at it.” After buying everyone I’ve looked at, I now realize that if I look at it, then I’m going to buy it. This book is “required” reading for every technophobe and a “must” read for every technology enthusiast. I use to think of technology as computers or music/move studios. Not after reading this. Truth is, it’s so ingrained in our lives that we often overlook how fascinating “everyday” things are.Finally, if you home school then get this and the DK Picturepedia. Outstanding bang for the buck with both of them and you’ll have enough teaching material for a long time to come.

Amazing book. No other way to put it. Very informational for anyone who is interested in how things work, all the way to professionals who desire to further their knowledge.Not too detailed, but wonderfully covers the systems, components, and miscellaneous facts with pictures and text in a way that is asthetically pleasing to the eye, and a joy to experience.Makes a great gift or addition to a personal library.

Great book with great illustrations. I really like the simplistic explanations of this book, and the examples given. It really helps tie the concepts together, especially for a person who knows very little about technology. However, my mom is an engineer and she skimmed through the book & felt the book explained difficult concepts brilliantly. Great for all learners! & a must for visual learners.

OK but not technically detailed.

I have always been interested in technology and how things work. This book combines both of my interests. Thank you. It is an easy read so just sit back and enjoy.

Very good pictures and explanations. Enjoyable read my 10 year old grandson is already half way through the book.

Awesome Book, very illustrated and in detail my nephew gave more insight on how product technologies do and the origins of development design.
