Fits like a glove
I was worried about some reviews saying these square trunks are a size or even two too tight. I don't have small thighs, and I just moved down to a 34 waist. But these 34s were on a sale, so I took the small risk. Right away it fit like a glove, to my surprise, similarly to my 20+ year old size 34 bikini Speedos, which I haven't worn in decades but tried on for comparison. Style is more flattering than others' photos led me to believe. Perfect length. It was snug, meaning the elastic compressiin was working, most snug at the thighs, but comfortable, which I think is how it's supposed to fit to perform. Also, the front is double-lined so the package area is tamed and smoothed. Swimming feels effortless, no drag or distraction. Jacuzzi soaks are so comfy. The fabric doesn't snag when sitting on a somewhat rough jacuzzi finish and bubbles don't form a donut in the front, finally! Fabric quality feels top notch so I may get good use out of these for a long time. 6'2"+ 205 lbs at the moment, for reference. Reasonably athletic build, but body types vary so your fit may differ. All considering, a steal at $35 and many times better than the cheapie trunks I got last year for about $20.

Decent workhorse practice suit
Well made swimsuit. I wear a 34” waist for most pants / jeans. 36” for Speedo swim suits fit perfectly.

Great swimsuit, just a bit too large for me.
I purchased this swimsuit several months ago. Overall its performance has been great. I don't have any issues mayor issues except that I feel that the design of the swimsuit is a bit big on me. I had read a review about someone complaining you should buy a size up from your actual size. This didn't work for me. I am a 32-34 in most clothes and purchased a 36. I still manage to fit in it and have to tighten it hard. Then again, in time it has shrunk a bit so it kinda doesn't feel so loose (which you want to avoid to maximize speed) But besides that, the swimsuit is great. Its comfortable, the material feels nice and seems durable. I always rinse it in fresh clean water after I swim to get the chlorine off and hang it in the bathroom. DO NOT USE DRYING MACHINE. This is a classic mistake most people make and it damages the swimsuit. Same goes for the washing machine, use cold water. I do recommend this swimsuit.

Speedo still makes an excellent, very durable short trunk for sprinting.
Love the short trunks: way better for sprinting and general comfort. I ticked "Fit As Expected" because unless you're ripped at the time, they ALL seem too small. They will relax a bit, though, and do put 'em on wet for a bit more ease. These are if anything, more durable than ever. They really hold their fabric and color day after day. Granted, they are heavily built, thus not too stretchy. I've found Speedo to be my go-to for 20 years, and I'm grateful I can find the shorter trunks, as the long ones just feel klunky to me. Great lasting, non- flashy workout gear! So happy they're not day-glo orange.

Complete review from 5'8" 155 lb fit asian male
Sizing The most important points about this are to order one size up from what the guide tells you. This is not because I am an inexperienced swimmer, I used to swim competitively. I know speedos are supposed to be tight to reduce drag. I am 5'8" 155 lbs and I am fit (read I have 6 pack). I'm saying this to show off and also so you know what my point of view is. I do squats and deadlift, and my thighs are naturally pretty large. I think the 8% body fat I have is gathered on my innerthighs. I wear levi's 513's size 30 with the waist being perfect (read I can put 2 fingers in the waistline snugly), but the thighs are a little constrictive. So my thighs ARE a tad larger than average. I ordered the size 32 of this speedo. A little difficult to put on and that put my mind into already thinking it was too tight. Waist was perfect, don't really need the drawstring. My buddies down there were nested and protected by the liner; comfortable. The only thing was the leg openings seemed a tad too tight. There was a SLIGHT sausage effect that I only noticed from staring in the mirror and feeling around my thighs. But again, my thighs are a littler larger than average. My friend who swims on the Macau national team told me that it would loosen a bit in water. I trusted him and cut the tag. I am writing this after a swim session and he was right. the speedo was really comfortable and I think it is a perfect fit. Material polyester PBT blend seems the most long lasting on the market. They stretch, but it is not a super easy stretch like you get with spandex compression shorts. Material seems really durable. Speedo logo is embroidered which is nice. Cut The square cut is perfect for me. The leg openings do ride up slightly on the thigh. But I wear boxer briefs and this is a familiar and actually comfortable feeling. More modest than a brief speedo, but still lets me swim freely.

Great Swim Trunks
I'm writing this before hitting the water, but I wanted to post it anyway since there is so much angst over how these actually fit, and no one seems to give their height and weight when saying these fit or don't fit (why is that?). I ordered the 34, and they fit me perfectly at 5'10", 165 lbs, and 38 years old. If they stretch over time, they may become slightly loose, but out of the box these trunks are great. They are snug, but not at all constricting. In fact, I'm pleasantly surprised at how good these feel. I'm a casual runner, not a swimmer, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. But these may be my new favorite swim trunks. They obviously are not baggy, but they do provide surprisingly reasonable coverage -- I'm definitely not going to feel like an inappropriately-dressed, saggy old guy at the beach in these. (If that's the look you're going for, you'll want a style with a different cut.) I may be back later to revise my ranking after I've been in the water with these, but, until then, hopefully my height, weight, and size ordered will give y'all some guidance on what will work for you.

RUNS SMALL!
Bought for my husband for Christmas so unfortunately am just opening it. We received a jammer rather than a square leg. Also there is no way this is actually a size 30. WAY TO SMALL

Good Swim Trunks
In few weeks it is going to be a year since I got these for my daily swimming routine (30 min/day). They holding up well against the chlorine. I started thinking of another pair because seams are fading. Fabric itself has not faded a bit. Inside is laid with a soft liner in the privates area. Water soaks through but not free flowing during entry or swimming which makes for a relative comfort in a cold pool. They are running > one size tighter, I am 32-33 and initially ordered 32..... not funny.... Returned instantly and re-ordered in 34, it is still quite tight/firm but not cutting the blood flow like 32 did. If you are 33-34 then 34 will be tight. I am rather slim/average 176cm/75kg. These do help swim faster if you compare to Bermudas or other beach/casual shorts, you will like the improvement in your lap time. That's about it. love reviewing the things I love.

Glad that I ordered a larger size than usually. Look decent on a full bodied middle aged guy.
I normally wear size 34 or 36 jeans (depending on the brand). After reading reviews, I decided to order size 38 of these swim briefs (because many reviewers recommend getting a size up), and they feel great. I don't quite have a belly, but I have a bit more fat above the waist than I would like to have, so I did not want the briefs to be too small and too tight; that could look pretty comical on my body. Size 38 is sitting just a bit tightly, but not very tightly. The waist is also not too low, and I can squat comfortably in these briefs, without risking exposing too much of my back. I'm actually much happier with the fit and the look than I expected. The Endurance+ fabric is praised in every swimming related chat room for its longevity, so I have high expectations of long service life. I swim indoors 3 times a week, I'll update if my opinion of these briefs changes.
