Man am I glad I got this guy. I've been using the standard wire strippers with the specifically sized, sharpened holes (you know the type) for years and years and have always just thought they were a big pain. Even ones from good brands had a nasty habit of cutting into fine stranded wires so I would have to either use a bigger slot or the correct size slot, but not closed all the way to score around the insulation and then tear it the rest of the way off. What a pain.This one is 100 times easier. As long as you stay within its capacity it has absolutely no problem stripping fine stranded or solid core wire. And there's not really any adjustments or care needed with regard to gauge, as long as you are under a certain size. There is a tension knob that I think is supposed to fine tune it to certain gauges, but I never bother. It's not intuitive at all as to what it even does. Anything below 10 awg strips easily (except for some multi-conductor wires) and 10 is alright too sometimes, though the thicker the wire the harder it is to get a specific amount of insulation off.There's also the little depth stop thing that really helps keep the amount of insulation removed over a number of wires the same, which is super nice. It itself is kind of a pain to adjust though. The locking screw for it seems really inconsistent as to how much you need to loosen before it'll move.Overall though, for pretty much any wire smaller than 10awg (and occasionally 10awg) and single conductor (and sometimes multiple), this is a completely brilliant stripper and you totally need one.

Fast, easy, convenient wire stripper. Best is class I suspect. For multiple decades I've used much lesser tools to wire strip include pocket knifes and the combo tool wire cutter with stripper. This tool excels in it's single purpose. Handles many gauges of wire flawlessly. Glad I bought it. Expensive and worth it.

Dentre as dezenas de marcas e modelos de decapadores de fios existentes no mercado, para mim um dos melhores é o da Klein Tools.Isso porque ao contrário da concorrência, o modelo 11061 conquista o consumidor mais exigente nos pequenos detalhes, como sua base de suporte de maior espessura, limitador do comprimento de corte feito de metal (e não de plástico), cortador de fio com lâmina de corte de verdade (e não estampada no cabo).Fora isso ele possui uma curiosa abertura na área de decapagem por onde os resíduos dos fios caem mais facilmente.Outro detalhe interessante é que essa ferramenta é um ODM fabricado em Taiwan e não na China.Mas tudo isso tem o seu preço e o 11061 não é exceção sendo ele um dos decapadores mais caros do site, chegando a custar de 5 a 6 vezes a mais do que um equivalente genérico feito na China.E como isso é possível cara pálida? Parafraseando o bom e velho crítico de arte John Ruskin que já no século XIX disse:"Quase não existe nada no mundo que alguém não possa piorar um pouco e vender um pouco mais barato, e as pessoas que só consideram o preço são presas fáceis para esses tipos."Simples assim.
