Why I think it’s a good purchase. Volume 3 marks the start of the Golden Age arc, where we finally see Guts’ past and how his brutal world shaped him. His meeting with Griffith and the Band of the Hawk adds depth and purpose to the story, showing that Berserk is more than just violence — it’s about ambition, loyalty, and destiny. Miura’s art improves dramatically here, with cinematic battles and powerful emotion. This is where Berserk finds its heart.

My son is into these books, not necessarily for the story content, but more the art and that they are well written. The books read like typical Japanese books, back to front. The art is black and white. The bindings/spine of the books are well made. While the paper is not extremely fine paper it is also not cheap or rough cut, hence, this is the 3rd book in the series I have purchased for him. If you're into these types of novels I do recommend these books as quality books.

The story gets better and better. And so does the art. All the designs and dark little twists in the story ate excellent. A must read.
