Interesting
I rounded my rating up to 4 but really I would give it a 3.7.The thing is I really enjoyed the story and the concept. It definitely has some similarities to The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness and I liked that about it. I liked the tie to ancient Egypt and the different gods. The thing is, I was all in through almost the entire series until the last maybe couple chapters of the final book. I just feel so unbelievably cheated and I feel like Lex was robbed. The last bit feels so rushed and thrown together and I’m sure there was a lot of thought put into but it left me just so unsatisfied. The story and concepts really are entertaining but I just say be prepared for the ending.

Time Travel Fantasy, (adult romance)
I really enjoyed the first book in this trilogy. The second book started to get a tad too convoluted for my taste, but by then I was thoroughly involved with the characters. I'm sorry to say, however, that the third book was a disappointment. For me, it seemed rushed and confused. The ending was anti-climatic and didn't resolve things well enough. There is a good reason for that--there's another series that continues with Kat being the focus.Even though time travel is not my favorite thing in a plot, I do give the Author a lot of credit for her wandering and complex timeline in this series. The sometimes locale (Egypt) was wonderful. I really liked the characters. The 3 books together made for a long read, and yet I never wanted to quit reading. I was hoping for an epic finish, though--which I didn't get. Kat was far from my favorite character in this series, and therefore I'm not pleased that she's the main character in the next, continuing series (the Kat Dubois Chronicles).Because this series ended (for me) on a sour note, I'm hoping that all loose ends will be resolved in the next series. I will read that series, but I'm going to need a break..... in order to get the taste of this trilogy's ending out of my mouth first. 3-1/2 Stars--I would have rounded upwards to 4 had the ending (?) made me happy.

Enjoyable almost until the end
I found this series really easy and enjoyable to get into. Each chapter left me wanting to read the next, but the final book totally fizzled towards the end. It felt like the author lost direction and focus. Too much time spent from the point of view of secondary characters with the main characters fading into the background, presumably with the aim of drawing people into the next series. This series started as Lex’s journey and should have ended that way but instead there were nothing but gaping holes and hives questions in books 3. Almost like the author couldn’t figure out how to end this series whilst still leaving herself an opening for a spin-off. I read the first two books and both novellas in 2 days but it took me closer to a week to force my way through the final book. Complete anticlimax to what started out as a very promising series.

They’re.. tolerable.
I meant to get the free kindle version, but I wound up paying for them so as a matter of principle I will finish them. I’ve made it through the first one and 1.5.Let’s just cut to the chase - these books ought to be sold next to the tacky romance novels at Walmart. They’re about a sneeze away from being smut, which is fine if there’s a plot, or at least a cohesive lead up, but there isn’t. The main character repeatedly goes from a traumatic revaluation or experience (that can easily be used to, I don’t know, continue the plot?) and instead you get several pages worth of her salivating over how hot her boyfriend is, or all the sexy sex that they sex when they sex. It’s ridiculous. The main characters are flat. I keep finding myself wanting to know more about the sidelined people who serve only to initiate the next scene that will inevitably be tossed aside for more.. you guessed it, sex.I was recommended this based off my enjoyment of the All Souls Trilogy, but this series doesn’t hold a candle in terms of writing, structure, character development and overall enjoyment.2 stars because I do continue to trudge through, but honestly? I want my money back.

Hooks you with the first few paragraphs!
Absolutely, without a doubt, one of the most fantastic stories that I have ever read. I could barely put this thing down! If you have any sort of love of Egyptian mythology, stories with prophesies, and time travel, then you have found your destination. Lex is a completely relatable "hero" in this story and the love felt between her and Heru will warm you all the way to your soul. There is entirely to much for me to say about the way this story made me feel, unfortunately it may give to much away so I will leave it with this....do yourself a favor and read it :)

I am super impressed at how well layed out the story is
Nearly done with the whole trilogy and it hasnt even been a week Ive been that captivated. I am super impressed at how well layed out the story is, the elegant word choice, the research that mustve been done for writing this, and the steamy scenes ;) . Absolutely fantastic and if i ever find it printed I shall buy them all. Fantasticly done Ms. Fairleigh very impressed. Keep up the amazing work!

History excellent, characters a little typical.
The history of Egypt, Italy, and many other places was superb. The description of the culture and how mythology might play out in a day to day existence for a superhuman interesting. The aspect of the main characters relationship was borderline teenager and definitely misogynistic in some ways. Overall, an enjoyable read with a little eye-rolling involved.

An excellent trilogy/mini series completely engaging throughout
Filled with fantastic but believable settings, detailed knowledge of ancient Egypt told in a very down to earth way that makes its very accessible and understandable. Great human journey & enduring love story between a sceptical Lex & a powerful & stunning Marcus (Heru). The storyline always engages with so many twists & turns & unexpected developments. Itt keeps you guseeing all the way through. Brilliant! Couldn't put it down - my family had to work round me for the few days it took to read!!!

Time travel and ancient Egypt...what’s not to like?
I love a bit of time travel, throw in Ancient Egypt and I will always “give it a go.” I loved these books so much I bought the Kat Dubois series straight after. I don’t want to give too much away but I must say, small things that happen in book one end up being important by book 3, how the author keeps it all straight and ties up all the loose ends into a really great/satisfying read I don’t know? Can’t wait for any other books she writes. What a talent!

Just too long.
I enjoyed the book at first but unfortunately it dragged on for just too long. It was very repetitive. After this I don’t think I will buy a trilogy again.
