Miracle-Gro for Fresh Cut Flowers

The pictured roses were purchased five days ago and instead of using the included flower food, I used the Miracle-Gro food. I just replaced the water and cut the stems again and they are in great shape. I have this bottle several times and as long as you change the water periodically, cut the stems, and put a few squirts of the food in the fresh water, they seem to keep a lot longer then without it. The liquid is definitely sticky so I usually use a paper tower to open the spout and push down on the plunger to squirt it in the vase.

This stuff is amazing. I've used it many times, on flowers cut from my garden and also with florist's flowers, and it really prolongs the life of the blooms, usually way beyond a week. Helps keep the water clear, too. And easy to dispense using the pump bottle. I'll always have a bottle of this handy from now on.

Good stuff kept all my summer flowers going longer., when I would pick them and put them in vases in the house.

UPDATE: Just changed my review from 3 to 5 stars. I thought the pump wasn't working, but it was my fault! The tip of the spout had a plastic stopper in it that I failed to notice. A few days later when I noticed and removed the stopper, the pump worked great! Sorry!! Good news is this product has kept my store-bought fresh flowers alive for a week now and they still look great! ORIGINAL: I was really excited about getting these for cut flowers I get at the grocery store every week. Unfortunately, the pump didn’t work on the first bottle I tried to use. Hopefully the other two bottles will work. Meanwhile, I’m just pouring it into the flower vase rather than pumping it in.

The pump makes it a little difficult to dispense small amounts for smaller bouquets of flowers. It is of great value for its price, however, since I've had this bottle for months and it's still half full. The flowers are visibly more "alive" when placed in solution of miracle-gro thanks to its nutrient-rich formula

This really makes flowers last long! I cut hydrangeas (and cut vertically up the bottom of the stems for more access to water) and after 5 days they are just now starting to wilt barely, photo included. Very impressed
