This product is so much easier to use than the one I have used for a long time. The product that I had used before was essentially made like a double eyed needle. Very slim and easy to slip through your fingers. Thus product is so much easier to catch the loose ends of the surger threads and fasten them off. Love it.

New to serging and these were recommended with the caution “takes some practice”. It must take a lot of practice because while these glide thru the serger seams they don’t seem to be able to pull the tails thru well, maybe the bulk is the problem. I know how to crochet and rotate to avoid catching threads so that is not the issue, it is the tails jamming up at the beginning from the folded in half tails. I think for me a crochet hook might work better, or maybe a ton more practice.

They were flimsy like other reviews had stated, but my daughter was happy to receive them.

Do you need this? You could use an embroidery needle to pull and tuck your serger threads. this one is hand friendly if arthritis is sneaking in. You do need to get the wrist motion to keep the threads moving nicely but its worth the second and a half of learning curve. I really like this.

I'm trying to get the suggestions for making this tool work smoothly to work for me. I think I'll get it, but I'm not there yet! Once I get the thread tails through, though, I have confidence that it's not going to come undone. Great idea.

I have tried lots of ways to deal with finishing serger seams (knots, fray check, crochet hook) but these extremely flat hooks are far faster than any method and the result is more attractive.The only drawback was finding someplace to store them without them getting wrecked since they are thinner than a playing card. I opted for my magnetic pincushion but I hope they are durable enough for regular use.
