These are actually well made and easy to do.
So like a lot of others with a pixel 2, my lens got scratched to hell and it was like taking pictures with a potato after a while.I bought a different kit brand to replace it, but it was pretty thick, and after not a whole lot of use, it too scratched to hell.I got kind of frustrated and sprung for this one because I read that it was a hardened material and thought, "Well, what the hell I'll give it a try."Things I immediately noticed: MOST of the others I've seen, the replacement is thick enough that when the phone slides, they end up scratching on surfaces first. This one is a bit thinner and recedes just a hair. The quality is crystal clear, and the camera has no focus issues. But because it recedes just a hair, it's /less/ prone to surface scratching.I work in my garage a lot on my cars and so my phone is almost always next to me on the garage floor so I can use it as a light, take pics, read stuff as needed. It takes a pretty good beating, I have no case on my phone. It's just a bare bones pixel 2.I've had this on my phone now for over a month and it's been to hell and back. Not a single scratch on the lens, not one. On the last repair kit I used of a different brand, it was a matter of days before I started to see scoring on the lens and was like, "Well ... dang." So far this has held up perfectly with no issues. And if for some reason it DOES have issues down the road? Well, the kit comes with two of them! Some issues you might have with installation are getting the original (or a repaired lens) out of the phone. The factory lens was incredibly fragile. The first time I repaired my phone I needed to only press on the lens lightly with a soldering iron pick and poof, it cracked, I pulled it out with tweezers, cleaned it out and replaced it.The previously repaired lens was THICK stuff, it scratched easy, but was hard to break. I actually ended up having to use a small metal handle of a pair of pliers and lightly (and I do mean lightly) tap on it to get it to fracture, and only then could I get it to crack enough to pull it out.Either way, this kit is great, it's strong, doesn't scratch easy at all and is a good value.

No instructions make this worthless
The product may or may not work I don't know. Mine didn't come with any instructions and what was pictured was not exactly what I got. Not happy that there was not instructions or link to instructions.

Good enough fix
Despite the lack of instructions it's still easy to install.Similar to other reviews the glue tabs weren't inclued, so I had to break the blue film over it with tweezers. The adhesive didn't seem to fit my pixel (a little too small) but still worked great! I'm not sure if it's my original camera or the new lens but it's not crystal clear despite cleaning the new lens and the camera gently with a q-tip. Still works great considering I was working with a shattered lense! Definitely worth the money as it gives you a spare!

No installation instructions
The package comes with tiny two adhesive rings and two lenses, but NO INSTRUCTIONS how to install. Reviews by other customers were very helpful.First, remove the old lens with a little heat and something sticky to pull it out. (I took the whole glass cover off first, which appeared to be unnecessary.) Next, clean the lens ring of any leftover glass or dust. Apply the new adhesive ring to the lens, then remove it. Some adhesive will remain on the back of the lens. Place the new lens into the housing ring, then press gently. I also applied a little heat, then pressed gently for several seconds. Done.Use the included wet and dry wipes to clean the newly installed lens of any fingerprints left behind. We'll see how long the lens stays in place. And those little blue tabs on the black rings in the photo.... those are not included. There are, however, a few sticky strips included, which are useful for handling the lens during installation. They peel off easily after use.

Great diy repair, save your existing phone!!
I told my wife my camera lenses was broken and she said, just go buy a new phone. Not wanting to make that investment having just paid off my pixel 2, I opted for a diy repair. Glad I did.The install went perfectly and my camera is as new.Advice:. Get precision tweezers to remove broken glass and adhesive before you begin. You will need s heat gun to soften the glue, but removing the glass is most important. Attatche the new adhesive to the new lense and then the two in the crevis where the broken lense was removed. Do all this with the precision tweezers, not your oily fingers. Don't press hard, but rather let the bonding adhesive cure with mild pressure.

Hazy - Diffuses Light Sources! Avoid!
I installed one of these so I guess I cannot return it now. While this item looks like another kit I bought elsewhere which worked fine with no issues, I cannot say the same for this one. Any light sources, however trivial, will introduce hazy, diffused white into your photos rendering them ruined. Street lights, headlamps, overhead lights, light peeking through venetian blinds - anything of the sort will ruin the photo you take. I've added two photos to illustrate the problem. This is like a cheap protective lens cover on a waterproof case and is NOT original or OEM quality. It's junk.

Install is a little tricky but product works great.
My recommendations for installing. Make sure if there is any shattered glass from the old lens that you clean it all out. Anything left behind could cause problems with focusing. once you have the area to install cleaned out (some adhesive on the metal sides from the old lens is ok as it will be covered) then the best way I found is to apply the adhesive to the lens first and then apply the lens into the cavity on the pixel 2. DO NOT press to hard, doing so may cause the camera to not be able to focus. only press enough so that the lens is flush with the metal ring.Note: doing this install yourself may compromise the waterproofing, I'm not 100% sure but the adhesive here may not be as strong and sealed as the factory.
