Small but still easy and comfortable to use
A not quite so small pocket pen supplied with a generously large sprung pocket clip that can accommodate almost any thickness of fabric or fit over a thick cover of a journal, diary, notepad or a meetings minutes book. It is available in a limited range of colours including black and blue. As an alternative to using the clip, there is a small plastic loop opposite the clip that could accept a thin D-ring or nylon cord associated with a lanyard. Unlike other 'mini-pens', this is sufficiently chunky and of an appropriate length to grip and use effectively. The "Tombow BC-AP54 Airpress Ballpen - Orange" is a recent addition to a couple owned and used since they were first discovered 2-3 years ago, this being to closely match a yellow-covered notebook/journal. Used almost daily, none has yet needed a refill which are readily available via Amazon and other Tombow retailers. The refills are quite short but appear to be long-lasting. The front conical section can be unscrewed and an empty refill pulled free - it needs a little strength and a good grip but isn't difficult. The unique feature of this pen, in common with the more expensive and feature-original Fisher Space Pens, is that the refills are pressurised and that allows the pen to be used to write against a wall, or even upside-down, without fear that the ink will fail to feed almost immediately; it will continue to write in such positions continuously. One has been permanently kept on a desk and occasionally soaked with tea, coffee and soft drinks although not by personal clumsiness but that of others. The pen has continued to function perfectly throughout and can probably survive a lot more abuse other than being crushed! Thus far, every one purchased has been filled with black ink but it is believed that blue refills are also available. The same refills are compatible with a few other Tombow 'compact' ballpoints.

Just a little strange to hold.
It writes smoothly, it has a nice fat barrel, it looks quirky and it feels well made.I wanted a well made, short pen - which this is. I wanted a good pocket clip - which this has.The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it just feels a little strange to use. I have yet to find it comfortable. The lumps and bumps on the barrel are too intrusive and are completely unnecessary. Look, for example at the LAMY 2000 range; smooth tapered barrels are absolutely fine. Barrels don't need bumps, just a minimal texture to stop them slipping.

Wake up call
I recently went to Manchester Airport viewing park, my daughter wanted a pen, well made with Concorde on it…£4 , how much, I said!. I’ve just bought this pen, , it’s basically of the quality you would expect from and exhibition give away product, maybe worth 60 p or whatever, yet I paid , what was it, near £6. Just shows how dumb we all are buying this tat . Lesson to self…stop it.

Worth a go
The pen has a great feel and does exactly as advertised. I use it out in the Warehouse everyday taking notes and writing on the side of pallets and its never failed, even when I've dropped it.My only complaint is that it's a very fine nib hence a bit faint for my liking
