Squier Classic Vibe 70s 5-String Jazz Bass, Black, Maple Fingerboard

This is well made and plays very well. I was a little apprehensive after ordering but when it arrived we became friends pretty fast, Its extremely well priced, looks great and does all the things a jazz bass should do. I needed something last minute for a session and its probably (dare I say it) now a mainstay. It sounds actually what you would expect from a jazz bass. It sounds WAY better than its price. It would seem the pickups are wired for a hum bucking configuration when both are turned up (this is good!) I have an actual late 60's jazz bass and an assortment of others. Any mild hum you get with one or the other pickup off is probably normal for this particular configuration...

The sound it nice

I received very quickly and it was beautiful and better than I expected. It was set up better than a much expensive guitar I purchased from the guitar center . Intonation, no fret buzzing, excellent finish. Nice job!

Neck and fretwork are excellent ... pickups are good for the price ... these are great for just playing a small venue or noodling at home. Definitely worth the $ IMHO

Came set up great out of the box. Plays and sounds a lot like a MIM Fender but for a lot less money. I'm not saying this is equal to or a replacement for a Fender but if you are a guitar player and want to have a good quality bass around for demos or jamming, you really can't go wrong for the money. I'd even gig with it in a situation where I'd be filling in for a friend.

This is actually my main instrument now, perfect for intermediate players looking at learning 5 string, I have always loved the weight of squire and fenders so not a problem for me, I would suggest investing in a good padded strap. The only issue for me is the set up is not the best (action is a little high and is a slight buzz on the low B string) will be taking this in to get it set up properly. Great sound over all.
