Check which way your laptop wires route prior to committing to these types of stand. It might limit exactly where you can place it. The metal frame does have some padding where it makes contact with the laptop but it isn't super soft or thick and still makes a slight scraping noise as you insert it. Also the padding doesn't envelop the sides of the arms holding the laptop in place which again means you just have to be quite careful when inserting to avoid damage. It would be better if the padding covered a greater area, and was softer. Otherwise not a bad product - it seems well made, is stable and has some weight to it.

The major advantage of this is not obstructing the air vents of my MacBook.Looks stylist and it's very well built. I would honestly have preferred it without the brand name on it, but whatever

I purchased this (and have owened it for about 9 months now) so I could wedge my work laptop behind my monitor and save a bit of desktop real estate. It worked a treat for that 5/5.But an unexpected bonus is that my laptop hardly never thermal throttles anymore. Worth £20 for that alone! In fact we have started to buy these for all home workers now. I use it with a Dell Latitude 7300 which is notorious for thermal throttling.

Adjustable, sturdy and good value for money. i bought one of these for my macbook pro set up in the office a year ago and now i'm upgrading my home office set up to two screens home whilst we all are stuck working from home, i'm going to buy one of these right now for home! I use a macbook pro 13" with it, absolutely no downsides to it.Throughly recommended.

Even with a MacBook in portrait it won’t topple, very sturdy. Very easy to adjust width so it’s snug for whatever model laptop you want to slide into it. Looks really good too!
