Awesome lighters. If you have used the discontinued original round slide lighters, these provide the same benefits of keeping your fingers away from the flames when the lighter is at an odd angle, like aimed downward to light a candle in a holderOne of the units became hard to activate after a week or so, and eventually became incredibly hard to slide. I only gave 3 stars because of that early failure, and additionally, the flames seems rather low after refilling the lighters, even when adjusted to full height. I'm using a rather old canister of butane to refill, I don't know if age reduces the potency of the fuel.One early failure and low flames aside, this is the best candle lighter ever made to avoid burnt fingers.

Lasted about 4 days each. So expensive and are not any easier for my arthritic hands. Save your money.

I broke my rule and bought an unrated item, and I never will do that again. This is THE MOST difficult lighter to light. I have some arthritis in my hands and thought this would be easier to light than most lighters. WRONG. It took two hands and a tool to apply enough pressure to slide it. Do not buy.

This lighter is dangerous!There is no slide lock which makes it hard to refill and if it slides while filling a river of fire is what happens.The old oval slide lighters had a lock on the bottom so that couldn't happen.These are not new and improved.Don't buy!
