Quality Product With Outstanding Warranty
My first pair of good gaming headphones was a pair of Logitech G933s. I loved them, I used and abused them for about 5 years before they fell apart (adhesive on headband failed, ratcheting mechanism on earmuff cracked, etc.) The build quality was good, I was just hard on them. For these headphones I cannot stress enough the importance of installing Logitech G Hub and setting up a custom EQ profile, especially if you want to use surround sound. When you leave the EQ flat on surround sound these headphones are extremely boomy and bass heavy. When the EQ profile is right these headphones sound great. The mic is clear, and the battery will last around 12 hours with the RGB off, 8-9 with it on. If you run out of battery, the included charging cable is long enough to facilitate charging while wearing the headset. The wireless range I can get is about 10-20 feet through the walls of my bedroom, enough to walk over to the adjacent kitchen and grab a snack while still participating in a call on Discord for example. After 8 months of service my current pair of G935s had an amplifier or the driver for the left ear fail. I called Logitech the next day during business hours, and in 23 minutes total (15 of which was waiting for approval) their agent was able to confirm they were sending a replacement headset. Logitech provides and stands by a 2 year warranty on these, and their claims process is easy and no hassle. Given how quickly they processed my warranty claim, these are still 5 stars despite the failure.

Unbeatable, Older Design & Functionality.
The sound quality in these is unmatched. I had my last pair for over 5 years, and hadn't really noticed that the sound had degraded a bit until I got the new pair. Holy cow, talk about high fidelity. Music of all genre's sounds great in these, and settings are easily tweaked to pair with whatever you're doing; gaming, jamming to tunes, watching a movie, or on a voice call. I play a lot of FPS games, and let me tell you, the bass ROCKS! I had to jump into a quick match right after I got these just so I could really enjoy how punchy the bass is while playing shooters. It really helps you feel immersed in the game. And of course, dtsX surround sound is unbeatable. No more getting ambushed! The last of the #35 series of Logitech headsets. Logitech's new headsets are suffering in quality, but this older design is still chugging away. It's super comfortable, and heavy duty. My last pair fell off my desk hundreds of times before the USB plug finally wore out. I love that you can color match with your other Logitech gear, and GHUB recognizes it immediately -- no compatibility issues. It holds a pretty decent charge (About 9-10 hours in my experience). It also still works on the charger, I know some headsets don't offer that. The only complaint I have is the leather earmuffs occasionally make my head a little sweaty. But those are easily replaced with fabric covers for a mere $15-20.

It got worse.
Update: 1 year later. Totally lost left ear audio. With no fix. Even attempted the "power button fix" Logitech was kind enough to send a replacement. That brand new replacement lasted 1 week until the mic lost the ability to un-mute. I now need to power cycle the headset to get my mic to work again. Every time. Oh and the software did not improve at all. It's still pretty basic and not very useful. I would never recommend this headset after all the issues I've had. The software sucks. I've had multiple instances where the software confuses it and the volume dile stops working.. you need restart your computer to fix it. The software is pretty limited. You can't set the buttons to do really basic stuff. Like go to a particular light pattern or just toggle the lights on and off instead both of those has to go through a cycle with multiple pushes. Audio quality is pretty good. But the mic input is awful and it's quality hasn't improved at all. I've seen $5 mics sound better. And the software cannot EQ it. Instead you have to use another program like audio banana to make the mic sound decent. Stand alone without the software it would be borderline usless. As out of the box you don't get any feedback of your own voice. It sounds like a minimal problem but it makes a huge difference.. it's weird and off-putting to speak and not hear your own voice clearly. But the software let's you adjust that. The rgb looks cool I guess but it limits the run time a tun so you just turn that off. And they dont last crazy long with just audio. And it dosnt have a great battery indicator on the headphones themselves.. you got indivisually adressable LEDs in a row.. USE THAT TO GIVE YOU A BAR GRAPH. They could have easily doubled the battery capacity but they didn't. The presets for supported games suck. Turn that junk off immediately. If you have a big head they arnt the most comfortable. I have them maxed out and it's still just a little too tight it makes wearing glasses even less comfortable. It's not a deal breaker for me but it's not ideal. The range seems great. I can walk around a fairly large house and not loose connection. In total it dose what I need it to do fairly well but with how many generations this product has gone through I'm surprised it's not any better than the model that came out like 8 years ago particularly in the mic quality.. take a voice recording of yourself and play it back. Then EQ it and do the the same. Or even compare it to a recording made with your phone.. it's 2022. Recorded Audio doesn't need to sound like an Xbox 360 mic anymore. And it's particularly important now with all the remote stuff we do.

An iterative improvement.
This review is written from the perspective of someone who owned the original G930, and later the G933, and now having used the G935 for a few months. The Good Audio is still great despite no longer shipping with Dolby Support. The DTX Surround is better tuned on this device (I didn't like the DTX sound on the G933) and sounds just as good as the Dolby on the G933 New side tone feature is really nice, not just for hearing what I sound like but also for situational awareness. Since the noise cancelling is so good, it's nice to be able to turn on side-tone and be able to hear my environment when I need to. The leatherette ear cushions are surprisingly breathable. This was one of my biggest concerns since I've had leatherette over-ear headphones before and my ears and hair got really sweaty after just an hour or two of use. Since I work from home I was concerned that this new headset would get too hot for all day use. Thankfully I haven't had a problem with this. I can wear it comfortably all day and not get sweaty. Also, since it's the exact same shape and size as the G933, you can swap out the leatherette cushions for your old G933's if you prefer them. Also any replacements made for the G933 should also work for the G935. The new software is more flexible. I don't like how I can't see it's charging status while tuning the device (you can only see it from the home screen), but that's really nothing to complain about. There are a lot more options, you can have multiple profiles for the same game. I personally only use it to turn the lighting off and set the sleep timer but hey, it is objectively better. And the new software can actually be minimized which I really appreciate. Does a better job of switching between PS4 and PC. The G933 would sometimes get confused if I try to move from the PS4 back to the PC and I'd have to turn off the headset and then turn it back on to get it working again. So far I haven't had that issue and it works great with the PS4 just like the last two headsets. The Bad Still has the same mechanical power switch. So like I said I work from home and use this headset daily, almost all day. My G933 headset's power switch got worn out and stopped functioning properly. When turning the headset on I would only get audio in the right ear, and had to take a screw driver, open up the left ear and gently push the little plastic arm of the power switch back into proper alignment so it would work again. This was extremely frustrating but can be avoided by simply not using the power switch. So I've turned it on, and never turn it off. I just let it go to sleep, and when I need to wake it up, all you have to do is plug it in. As soon as it's plugged in it will power on or wake up so that is what I recommend doing to avoid wearing out the power switch.

Great headset with few setbacks
I waiting till just about a year of use before writing this review and I've got to say, its a good headset. I'll start with durability, because I have a headset holder that clamps to my desk that falls around once a week, and a year of that abuse and this headset is still fine. Falling threeish feet onto a wood floor over and over again. I've also launched it off my head playing VR games a couple of times, no issues at all. With controls and sound quality, I'm somewhat iffy. Not the BEST headset I've ever used, especially with that 3D sound technology and other fancy stuff you can get nowadays, but the quality is as good as it gets at this price point. If you need sound quality better than good, then you pay a premium. That's how it works. At what you pay there's absolutely nothing to complain about. The controls on the back are a tiny bit janky and I never really bothered to make use of the buttons other than the one that controls the lights, but the volume wheel feels nice and responsive and I never find myself over or under adjusting the volume because of it. The microphone is decent enough, I used to use a USB blu brand mic, not once I realized this headset had a mic and its as good of quality. It's so well camouflaged when its flipped up that I used the headset for over a month without realizing it had one! I went to take it off one day and bumped the mic down with my hand lol. The battery life is good, very rarely did I find myself with a dead headset when I didn't forget to charge it. The downside though is when it dies, you can't plug it into a PC and keep using it. It will continue to die. I work a lot and when the battery gets low I usually plug it in and leave and do something else for a while, sometimes leaving it plugged in for days (I know, that's bad.) I haven't really noticed any decrease in battery life due to doing this yet, but even if I did the battery is easily accessible and replaceable! I'd ignore the reviews saying "oh bad quality it came and lasted a week yadadada" because every single product will have defects and warranty issues, I know because I work at a ford dealership lol. At the price, it's a good headset, and even if it takes a crap a month from now I will probably buy another one.

I've been using these for six years and keep replacing them with the same version.
I think I'm on my 3rd set of these in 6 years because of how good they sound (games, videos, music), and the mic quality for a headset mic is great. Control buttons are easy, but you do hit them from time to time by accident and have to open the control panel app to see what you hit. Connectivity is good and has a decent range with the USB adapter. I frequently wear them out in my backyard. One went bad (driver updates made the earlier G930 models not work well), which was replaced by Logitech for free. 2nd one I dropped hard, and it broke a little screw attaching the earpiece to the headset. For about 100$ you probably won't find better quality, and for less, they usually just dont sound good or work well.

A Lengthy Review from a Headset Connoisseur
I don't think of myself as a gaming headset expert by any means, but I've had 5 headsets in one year. Either I just have bad luck with headsets (which is true for one very pricy set of Astro 50s that I sat on), or the headsets put too much pressure on my head/aren't a great fit for my melon or they just aren't as feature rich as I'd like. That being said, just a heads up, I wear a size 8 new era hat and that's the biggest size they make (at least that I've been able to find). My head is big and my ears are about a medium size. Usually headphones with circle cups cause fatigue on my ears so I avoid them (I'm looking at you Corsair). Some of this review may be biased based on the size of my head and I'll get that part out of the way first. ######### ### FIT ### ######### For myself, the fit of the Logitech G935's was a little snug at first and I could only wear them for 3 hours before they started to hurt my head. after some stretching of the head band they opened up a little. After all was said and done I got about 6 hours of wearing them before they started to hurt my head/ears. These would fit comfortably on a medium to small size head. ######################### ### How I use the headset #### ######################## I use this headset for everything I do on my computer: music, movies, Teams Meetings, Single and Multiplayer gaming. I don't do competitive fps gaming where I need to hear footsteps behind me. I do play a lot of different kinds of games though including fps. ############## ### Features ### ############# I've never had a use for the G buttons on headsets from Logitech, but it's always been nice to know they are there if I need them. With a Logitech keyboard and Mouse, there are plenty of G keys and buttons to fulfill my needs. I like that I can mute myself by simply moving the mic up or down and it mutes myself and unmutes in a Teams meeting for work. (I spend roughly 40% of my time at work on teams meetings). Surround sound. It's there but it's nothing to write home about. It adds a little umph for movies. Gaming I can tell where a person is shooting from for the most part. But it's not extraordinary. It's not mind blowing or super immersive. RBG. Syncs up with your other RBG Logitech devices to provide consistent RBG across your devices. It's nice. but they're on your head. The only people seeing the rbg are my family. I don't really care about this feature and it doesn't really affect my rating. ############## ### Quality #### ############## At first I thought these would last years. They felt sturdy in all the right places. They had a solid design. I felt like I had a quality headset and I got my money's worth, but I digress. I would say I'm hard on headsets but with these that really wasn't the case. I would stretch the band to make them comfortable for longer. I have a headset holder hanging from my desk to put the headset when I'm not using it. I've really had no excuse for them to short out on one side, unless they just weren't designed for heads as big as mine. I usually avoid touching or pulling the wires connected to the cans like the plague. After the 9 months I had these, one side just shorted out. It would turn on and off if I (for lack of a better phrase) wiggled them around. The charging cable that comes with these is long enough to reach my head while plugged into my computer. But the rubber sleeve on the cable is cheaply made and split down the seam in several places exposing the bare wires from within it. This happened in less than the 9 months I had them. ########################################### ### Comparison with *some* of the other headsets ### ########################################### Astro 50 (old an new versions) I had an older generation of the Astro 50s that had the "leather" ear cup mods on them. They lasted me for a couple years before the leather started to peel away and so since they didn't have those mods anymore for the generation of headset I had, I had to get the latest version of the Astro 50s. The sound quality of both didn't blow me away. it was about on par with what the Logitech was giving me in headset surround sound. RIG 700s While I had this set I went back and forth between it and a pair of RIG 700s that I got from a Crate store that I got for fairly cheap at another store that sold sealed returns from other stores. The Rig 700s in terms of first impression felt cheap. But after using them for a while I realized they were meant to be light weight as to not provide fatigue and the doby atmos when paired with the right game or movie blows everything else I've tried out of the water. I can comfortably wear these without even noticing they are on my head for over 12 hours. The problem I had with the RIG 700s is that the mic was one you plug in and after going idle for so long it just turned off. the only way to get it to turn back on was to unplug it and plug it back in. other than that solid headset. RIG 800s So as I searched for something perfect, I got the Rig 800s with the docking station. This is hands down the best headset I've tried. I usually kept to name brands in the past: Corsair, Astro, Logitech, Sennheiser, etc. I thought RIG was going to be a knock off brand but was pleasantly surprised. This is my sweet spot. I haven't owned them for more than a year so I'm unsure if they pass the test of time, but we shall see.

Logitech really let me down with this.
I'd like to start off by saying I have never had problems with Logitech products before. I have been using them for decades (mouse/keyboards) and the products are usually top notch lasting YEARS. However this set of headphones really let me down. I bought them in 2020 around Christmas time and the power button like others here have spoken about failed in exactly a year's time, Christmas 2021, and the ear pads and head rest at the top started to flake around the same time. Similar issues happened with the mic flip to mute and unmute option. I thought it was just a bad batch, as you can see in the picture it's still in great condition. I never dropped it, never hit, knocked it, bent it. I take really good care of my things. So I decided to try again and luckily I was still within warranty so I contacted custom service about it to get a replacement because like I said I am a fan of Logitech products and have been using them most of my gaming life. 20+ years. So I really wanted to give them another chance. Customer service was GREAT, let me just say that. They sent a replacement for me with no hassle and this time. This second set I took EVEN greater care of them and to my surprise in almost a year's time it started to fail with the same issues, (power button and flip mic) Sometimes I have to turn it on and off or just touch the power button slightly when I turn it on just to get sound out of both sides of the headset, you can really tell that there is some sort of electrical shorting happening around the power button. Recently the mic wouldn't even come on after the usual power on sound alert. I have to unplug the USB dongle and plug in back in then turn on the headset again and most times that fixes the mic turning on at least. I am really disappointed in this set of headphones from Logitech, a real let down. When it was working it was great, good sound everything but after a year power button and mic issues are the downfall. I really think they need to change the power button from a switch to a press button. TLDR: Headset was great while it lasted, but the power button, the not getting consistent sound on both sides, flip to mute mic failing, and ear pads flaking after a year both times are real issues.. Regretfully I'm gonna have to look elsewhere for a better headset.
