Schoenhut12 Note Tie Dye Thumb Piano (Multicolor)

This thumb piano looked so cute, I gave it a shot. My son saw it on an episode of Sesame Street and I thought he'd get a kick out of it. I ended up playing with it more than he did, haha. But even out of kid's hands, the little prongs loosened and became crooked and out of tune quite quickly. I'm disappointed it did not last longer.

Complete junk. It cannot be tuned and sounds horrible. Waste of money

I ordered this specific one because I thought I read in the description that it had a book with it. I wanted to give this to my niece (10) for Christmas. I think it should come with a book of instruction and a couple of songs. I searched for a Thumb Piano instruction book, but I couldn't find one. Without some instruction, it would have just been a noise maker.

Santa left this under the tree this year for one of my kids. The thing rattles/buzzes on some of the outer thumb doo-hickeys and I thought maybe the bar that holds them on there was a little loose. It wasn't. I couldn't turn the screws at all with the screwdriver, yet the metal tines (?) can be pushed a little bit from side to side. It would be great if the tones didn't have that extra buzz . Looks cool with the tie-dye design. The body is totally made out of plastic.

Super fun! The only downside is that it gets out of tune easily.

It has not yet reached the young person I'm giving it to, but it looks good and comes with playing instructions ( I think). of the three that I purchased I like this one best.

I like that these thumb pianos are partially plastic as it seems to make them a little hardierfor use with kids. What I dididn't like was that I ended up ordering three of them. The first one had a horribly annoying buzz on the right 3 keys. No amount of adjustment seemed to help. I returned that one and ordered two more in hopes that one would be better. I ended up with one that buzzed (this time on the left) and one that was fine. I am a piano teacher so yes, I am pickier than some would be. I also had to do some tuning on the one I kept, but that is par for the course with any music instrument.

Super gift and good price.A fun gift for any age really.Looks expensive and well made.I will look out now for more Schoenhut products.

Some of the prongs were loose and sounded out of tune. However, it will still produce a nice melody from the other keys. Good purchase considering the price.
