We have a large double slider and needed to make it self close somehow. After finding out that it can get really expensive having companies come out and do these things, I started looking around to see what we can do ourselves first. Was able to purchase self close hinges, window hex locks, push pin lock, yard gate tension springs and even this! This was such an awesome big money saving find! Really know your door weight before ordering. I ordered a medium first and it wasn’t strong enough, I under estimated our doors weight. This one was perfect. Husband installed it easy and after cleaning tracks it was up. At first it does seem like its not going to fully work but after some opening and closing it will start to loosen up. We don’t have little kids in the house and thought of just taking it off after inspection, storing it to throw back on if we have little ones come over....but after using it we actually like it. It’s nice to not have to get up after some one forgets to close behind them and we have the other side to open if we need it left open. But it is so easy to pop on and off that you can take down whenever. This saved us several hundred dollars by installing one ourselves vs hiring companies to come do it. Review: Works good on my Heavy door. - I have a heavy hard to open slider door. I installed this on a 6 ft. double sliding door. 36 in. each door. i only open one side. i needed to get this due to Queen Creek AZ requirement to have self closing and locking slider doors when you put in a pool. I mounted the unit for one door and put the unit in a pre-load position. example, I pulled it out about 2 ft. then screwed it in. i found it had more pressure to pull it back if you pre-load the closer. It closed it OK. make sure you use silicone spray on everything. it helps alot. ## Features - Works for patio doors with shades and smooth operating 8 foot patio doors (4 foot panel) - Easy to install - just a few simple steps. - Keeps children and pets safe from wandering out and gives you peace of mind especially if you have a pool. - Energy Saver- Reduces cooling and heating by keeping the patio door closed. - Speed adjustable to slow the door down as a child safety feature to prevent injury. - Before installing lubricate the tracks and any point the door touches the frame with silicone lubricant to minimize friction. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07JPR14NB | | Best Sellers Rank | #160,233 in Tools & Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Tools & Home Improvement ) #127 in Door Closers | | Brand | Innovative Door Solutions | | Brand Name | Innovative Door Solutions | | Color | Silver | | Customer Reviews | 3.9 out of 5 stars 186 Reviews | | Exterior Finish | Stainless Steel | | Installation Type | Screw-In | | Item Weight | 0.75 kg | | Manufacturer | D&D Hardware | | Number of Items | 1 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Sliding patio doors | | Size | Heavy Duty Plus 1 | | UPC | 691337122574 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Innovative Door Solutions - **Color:** Silver - **Exterior Finish:** Stainless Steel - **Installation Type:** Screw-In - **Item Weight:** 0.75 kg ## Images ![Slideback- Sliding Door Closer (Heavy Duty Plus) for 8 ft Wide or Tall Doors - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81CGfnT-LVL.jpg) ![Slideback- Sliding Door Closer (Heavy Duty Plus) for 8 ft Wide or Tall Doors - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81G99kCxptL.jpg) ![Slideback- Sliding Door Closer (Heavy Duty Plus) for 8 ft Wide or Tall Doors - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91UznwRYVTL.jpg) ![Slideback- Sliding Door Closer (Heavy Duty Plus) for 8 ft Wide or Tall Doors - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81SZwSZMLDL.jpg) ![Slideback- Sliding Door Closer (Heavy Duty Plus) for 8 ft Wide or Tall Doors - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71rFIfywESL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: What is the door weight range for this model?** A: It is meant for about 150-275 lb sliding doors. But for patio sliding doors even if they are lighter they will still need a heavy duty slideback because the wheels are on the bottom and cause more friction. **Q: My sliding door opens on the outside track so the closer would have to be on the outside of the house. Will that work?** A: Yes, the mechanism can mount on exterior as well as interior. Bracket will work for either condition. **Q: Once installed, is there a way ( switch, magnet, spring, etc) to keep the door open easily and temporarily?** A: Yes you can add a magnet that can keep the doe open. **Q: Are you able to ship to New Zealand?** A: This product is fulfilled by Amazon not sure what Amazons policy regarding international shipping is. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Saved us $$ instead of hiring a company *by B***A on July 27, 2020* We are having a pool put in our backyard and per city codes we needed to get certain door and window locks for safety inspection. We live in an area with lots of coyotes, so we needed a solution to keep our cat inside. My kids are prone to leaving the doors open It works well, but there’s absolutely no reason this should cost 150 dollars. That’s highway robbery. ## Frequently Bought Together - Innovative Door Solutions Slideback Self Closing Sliding Patio Door Closer (Heavy Duty Plus) for 8 ft Doors - Sliding Door Latch- Pool Safety Latch Two Way Opening Sliding Door Latch --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hu/products/102558123-slideback-sliding-door-closer-heavy-duty-plus-for-8-ft](https://www.desertcart.hu/products/102558123-slideback-sliding-door-closer-heavy-duty-plus-for-8-ft) --- *Product available on Desertcart Hungary* *Store origin: HU* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
