SD STUDIO DESIGNS Modern Flexible Foam Table Top Organizer for Jumbo Marker, 25 mm Slots

This is perfect for my needs. I am a portrait artist and currently am working on a triple-subject pencil portrait commission. I find the metal boxes that my graphite and carbon pencils come in unsuitable and inconvenient while I'm working on a piece. These foam holders/organizers work perfectly, allowing me to easily reach for the pencil I need and just as easily replace it in its proper place (I have them sorted by grade of softness). Since you get two organizers in a package, I don't consider the price too high. I have the pencils in one and my blending brushes/tools in the other. I love the cell phone holder in the middle, although on the other holder I use that slot for my drafting brush and some of my erasers. They are lightweight, easy to move around, and seem sturdy enough. I know I will find them useful for my colored pencils and pastel pencils as well. A worthwhile purchase, in my opinion.

I had previously ordered the hard plastic holders for my brushes and pencils. They were wobbly and kept falling apart when I needed to move them. The pencils and brushes would also fall out. I really like the snug fit of these. They are light weight and pleasing to the eye. I think I’ll try ordering the larger size for my smaller paint tubes.

I bought this to replace the studio designs tray that was supposed to fit on the end of my studio designs drafting table but did not. It’s a nice solution for holding pencils and pens but frankly a little expensive for a piece of foam with holes punched in it. It has held up well for a month, but I’m not sure that with repeated use the grid will maintain its integrity… We’ll see!

I purchased a new art desk with trays on the side to hold your pencils. I had seen another desk that had something similar to these and liked having all my pencils within reach and not having to dig through them to find the right pencil. The only downside was I had to cut them to fit, which isn't the manufacturer's fault. Also, the holes tend to loosen up a lot after a while so I'm not sure how long these are going to hold up, but for now, they're working. I think the desk I purchased had trays that are narrower then the average art desk. You might not have to cut them.

Out of 100's of pen holders available, this one has a unique advantage. The foam rubber construction is able to hold many different sizes and shapes, and they don't rattle around or slide down. Sometimes the simplest design is much better than ones that are over-engineered and complicated. Great Idea!

Doesn't fit my desk either, and I even have a Studio Designs desk. Ok, standalone, but the holes are a bit big for pencils to stand firmly.
