Easy to install
These work great. My paddle is 18 years old and still Maintaining but the two are stuck together and cannot be pulled apart. These are Velcro and are able to wrap around the paddle shaft. These are easy to install. Mine paddle has a smaller shaft and it works great without slipping. I t helps my hands not hurt or get a stored as fast. I highly recommend.

Comfortable, long-lasting, best available.
My kayaking buddy and I have tried several brands of foam paddle grips and agree this one is the best youโll find. Theyโre thicker and feel better when you tape them in place, and they last many years in the sun and salt water without the foam breaking down. My friend had another brand with thinner foam, and the foam crushed and more or less turned to powder in two seasons. If youโre trying to decide which to buy, buy these. Theyโre more expensive but theyโre made to last. All pads like this need to be taped in place, otherwise theyโll move around on the paddle shaft, and youโll constantly be moving them back and forth. Paddle with them a bit to decide exactly where you want them, let the pads dry completely, then use the gray, 3M, outdoors, UV resistant (duct) tape to permanently tape them in place.

They help but...
What I got were velcro closing, fit like a glove to the paddle. They cushion fantastic and help with blisters. I do wear gloves but sometimes that still isn't enough, so this is a very nice addition to strong paddling. That said, the problem I have with them is that I find my hand position changes on the paddle. Who knew. These grips then are in the way and no longer positioned where I need them. They won't just slide so I had to un-velcro them and then reposition, then when the hand position changes, there you go again. That is the reason for the one star down. I was fussing with them way too much. Yet, I like the cushion. I am wondering if I add a second pair to cover a larger area if that might help. The size of the cushions are perfect for most any hand size but not if you change your hand position.

Very comfortable
I'm replacing a pair I accidentally left at a kayak rental at the end of the season. The velcro feature on this item allows me to use easily on different paddles, whether canoeing, kayaking, or SUP.

It's the simple things..
This is the 3rd pair of these that I've purchased. I bought the first pair as a gift. I immediately knew I needed to order a pair for myself. This pair will also be a gift and I would have bought a 4th pair as a gift but when she saw mine she ordered herself a pair before I could buy them for her. These are a must have for long paddling trips. I no longer have blisters after a great day of kayaking. Simple concept but makes such a difference. They are easy to put on (Velcro) and will fit any paddle.

Great paddle grips that make my canoe days much nicer.
So glad I found these. My husband and I recently purchased a canoe, and my computer hands were not ready for the work. I would get the start of a blister in between the index finger and the thumb, I'm sure this is the case for most. I would then hold my paddle without wrapping my thumb under, but that wasn't as comfortable. I found the Yakgrips after searching on Amazon, and they're awesome. My husband who said he wasn't having issues chose to use one on his paddle and he likes it. We have the non-take apart style with velcro closures and they fit secure our not so fancy aluminum and plastic canoe / boat paddles. I think the quality is good for what they are. The outer side that you handle is made of a polyester fabric (possibly) could be snagged material if left on something rough like unfinished ply wood. Otherwise shouldn't be a problem. The interior is a thin rubber that holds in place well. These grips aren't thick and puffy, which is nice. They're only meant to give a softer surface for you to handle with a little cushion. Overall I would purchase these again and recommend these to others.

These do a great job of protecting your hands
These do a great job of protecting your hands, but I would get the ones that are all one piece not with the velcro next time. Its difficult to get them tight enough to stay in place. I actually ended up applying one thin strip of E6000 repositionable glue on the back and it gave them just enough tack to keep from twisting around the paddle. Cant imagine not having them tho now! Great protection!

Too Small to Fit on Any Paddle - Dont buy
These cannot be original Yack grips, there is no way they can fit over and onto a paddle. Way too small and not enough stretch - can't quite see what they could be used for.

Improves grip on cold weather.
Improves grip in cold weather. Strong Velcro to snugly hang the paddle shaft. I tighten one up firm and the other I leave looser to rotate on the paddle shaft.
