Great buy and easy set up
I bought to replace a rented modem and received it early which was nice. The size is perfect its about half the size of the rented one.I also hooked it up to everything that I needed to and it started up immediately.A short phone call to my internet provider technical support and gave him the mac add.and I was up and running.Im very happy with performance and price was reasonable and will pay for itself in just couple months.Excellant buy for a none technical gal to set up and get running with little no how and a cell phone.Just make sure when you call your provider to connect your new modem/router because you will have to call or they will assume your still useing their rented one have the box yours came in they will need some numbers off the box. Also say yes to them sending you a box and label to return theirs to them its free and the sooner they get it back the sooner you wont pay any more rental fees!!!They are so helpful and make it an easy thing to do.Enjoy

Works just fine
Went to the Xfinity store with MAC address and serial number from the unit, which they used to register it to my account. I returned home and set it up, which was very straightforward... active within about 5 minutes. I was worried by other reviewers who observed slower speeds, but I'm getting almost exactly 100 Mpbs plugged in, w/o significant other traffic on network... as advertised. If I'm really splitting hairs, it's not ideal that the gateway isn't compatible with my Xfinity account, but I guess that's one of the trade-offs of opting out of the rental program and not that big of a deal.

Great for the price.
I'm fairly pleased with my purchase. The WiFi is a bit slow when I'm in my bedroom (router is in the living room on the other side of the wall) with two phones and a TV running off of it. With an ethernet connection I don't run into much lag while gaming.Note:- You will need to buy your own coaxial cable.- If you are setting up WiFi for the first time, you can request not to have professional installation and watch a YouTube video to save yourself some money.- You'll want to set it up in a central part of your home.- I have Spectrum, and it is compatible.

DO NOT BUT
I don’t quite know where to begin but trigger warning: this is a painful journey!!!!I was very optimistic when purchasing this product. I tend to have decent luck with things and I only needed this for ONE room in my home so I figured refurb would be fine and I wanted to save myself from spending the 13 dollars a month with Comcast. Keep in mind, I already have Comcast and use it everyday of my life without fail.I received this modem router combo and all seemed well. I had to call Comcast to get it’ll the modem activated with my account. I spent 2 agonizing hours on the phone with Comcast because they could not locate the device, even though it was sitting right in front of me! I was calm as a cucumber those entire two hours even though I missed General Hospital. It was determined that the modem was offline even though I had it fully attached to everything and we tried every outlet in this room and another just to be sure. This discovery led me to the Amazon support that is provided with this product and I kid you not, the man said “all I can do is read the manual” so let’s fast forward through another rough 1 hour and 36 minutes of another hard to understand representative putting me on hold to read the manual and ask me if it was plugged in 30 different ways. He eventually exhausted himself and transferred me to Netgear and that’s where the real fun began. A man who, bless him, couldn’t speak English if his life depended on it said I needed to send proof of purchase and register the modem before he would even try to help. I was furious, but I obliged. I sent my amazon receipt to his email and he put me on a nice, quiet 18 minute hold while he looked at my screen shot. He then asked for a picture of the device. I obliged, again, because I’m an idiot. 20 minutes later he comes back and asks for the phonetic spelling of my first, last and email. Yes, you read that right PHONETIC. So that was a fun few minutes of “Noo, H as in Hungry.” This long, aggravating call resulted in him only asking me to restart the device then telling me the device was manufactured in 2016 and was refurbished, resold and should have not been sold again because it was... you guessed it DEFECTIVE.Please, safe yourself the trouble and DO NOT BUY THIS.***psa: I’m not an old person, I’m 26 and very tech savvy, it wasn’t user error***

Excellent condition, bought used
The equipment is fantastic, works exactly as designed, fast, stable and all cables included. My only downside was there were NO instruction in the package. It is basically "plug and play" and you can find almost any manual/app online now days but it was a bit off-putting not to have a single piece of paper in the package (other than asking me for a review).

Refurbished is the way to go!
Disclaimer: we use data at a much lower rate than most people. We have at most 2 devices on WiFi at a time, and we don't do any online gaming. That being said, so far this is working perfectly for us. I love that it came with 90 days warranty and free tech support, which I used already on day 2. It was the NetGear support rep (not my internet provider support) who told me I needed to register my MAC address with the internet company first. I had already talked to someone with my provider about the device not working and this never came up, so in my opinion, NetGear people know what's up. Not to mention the price...instead of paying $14/month rental fee we bought this and will recover the cost within four months. I'm so glad we aren't renting or paying full price for a brand new modem/router, this one looks brand new as well!

More than Satisfied with this Refurbished Modem Router!
It was very simple setup to have this netgear C3700-100NAR replace a rented modem from Xfinity. The tech support was direct, concise, and genial to have this modem router connected and my account forthwith switched over to it so I wouldn't be charged more than necessary. The easy to follow instructions included helped me create an account to access digital support on the modem router through my browser, and it was set up in no time! Providing wifi for 6 people, I appreciate it has great bandwidth and two different channels: 2.4 and 5 GHz. Clear reception anywhere in the split level home.
