A very good value for a well made quality cable. Product: **** Package: **
There are two distinct aspects of reviewing this product. First, as usual, there is the product itself. Second, and more unusually, is a review of the product packaging, and how it was delivered. The second aspect, hardly ever commented on, except by disgruntled and outraged customers venting over something UPS did with their boxes, is due to Amazon heavily promoting this product based on it being both a generic, "Amazon Basics" Amazon brand value and also because, they say, it is delivered in "Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging". The implication of "Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging" is that the customer is somehow being more "green" or less wasteful by consuming a Amazon Basics product sent this way.A summary would be:Product: ****Package: **Let's look at both aspects:First, the Amazon Basics RJ45 Cat5e Ethernet Patch Cable In Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging: it's hard to say much about a cable. It is long, it is gray, it has connectors at each end and conducts signals. The quality of the Amazon Basics RJ45 Cat5e Ethernet Patch Cable appears quite good. The connectors are solid, and it has connected my components cleanly and worked flawlessly. As with AC extension cords, there are cheap ones and good ones, and very heavy duty high quality ones. They all work. The quality issues get into durability, style, pride of ownership and long term reliability. Unlike analog audio cables, networking cables that carry digital signals either work, or fail at a certain length, there is no middle ground. This cable is rated to carry gigabit Ethernet and, so far, it has worked perfectly well. There's nothing about it that suggests that, in a post apocalyptic world, that searchers for survivors wouldn't find it still hooked up and smoothy transferring bits from my remaining equipment. It seems to be a very good value for a well made quality cable. As to the "Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging": The idea, as stated by Amazon, is that the product "...comes without excess packaging materials such as hard plastic clamshell casings, plastic bindings, or wire ties. The packaging is designed to be opened without the use of a box cutter or knife, and it will protect your product just as well as traditional packaging. Products with Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging can frequently be shipped in their own boxes..."For one thing, the items themselves do come in generic brown boxes, with a minimum of packaging. The cable that I received also came packaged inside another regular Amazon shipping box, which sort of dents the idea that you are saving cardboard by ordering this, when it is still delivered packaged in another box. As to opening without cutter or knives and so forth, you still have to open the first box to get to the earnest and virtuous box inside. It may be true that "easily and frequently recycled, composted, or reused by our customers, and all the inks and dyes are biodegradable". But, on balance, it doesn't seem that much has been saved. The entire proposition would hold up better if the item were actually shipping in the allegedly virtuous boxes.

Works with AT&T Internet Router - Needs to be wrapped less tightly to avoid crimping.
One of the difficult things about buying this online was the reviews were mixed. Some options (not this one - probably) said it wouldn't work with the AT&T Router. It did fit (a bit snug) but works.Giving four stars instead of five because the way it is wrapped for shipping could be better. It is wrapped so tight that several of the turns crimp. IF THEY would roll it into a larger box it could unwrap smoother. The connection and speed are good. The price was reasonable A more expensive one could be less problematic to crimping. The crimps don't seem to interfere with function once I gently smoothed them. But, I can imagine this crimping will lesson the life, potentially making those spots prone to wearing out faster.

So far so good. Wonder if Amazon will post this?
Bought 25' from Amazon basics. Tested each contact for continuity and all was fine. The cable is currently connected and working well. Id rate the cable 5 stars but any 5 star review i leave these days gets kicked back by Amazon as a "fake" review. Amazon review policy is out of control. Folk leaving honest reviews are getting censored while hundreds and hundreds of obviously "fake" reviews(5 star reviews that people were given free products to write) are allowed to post and stay posted.

Perfect, long cable! No problems with it!
Pros: Extremely long, long lasting, easily can be hid behind things, perfect fit into line, and durable.Cons: There really aren't any cons. This ethernet cable came in really handy when I had a problem with my old one messing up. Never have had a problem with it. The reason I looked for a cable like this was because my router and my line jack are very far from each other. I needed that was lengthy enough to rap around some book shelves and go along a long wall. With this in mind I searched amazon for the long ethernet cable. I didn't want one like my last one which was not durable but at same time needed one that was pretty long. I got that ethernet cable from my cable/internet company and it would continually slip out while I was using the internet and forced me to push it back in every once in a while. It also was sort of short and barely reached to the line jack. It got to the point where it was happening almost everyday and thought it would be a good time to get a new one. This is where the Amazon Basics ethernet cable comes in. I got this cable and have ZERO trouble with it since. It was the right length I needed and fit perfectly for my situation. It wrapped around the bookshelves and ran across a wall. It being hid behind everything was perfect too. Since buying this product I have never once touched it thinking it was a problem with it. Perfect buy!

Hella-convenient!
Upon returning to school this year I found that the impossible had happened. The free university Wi-Fi had somehow, someway become worse than it had been in previous semesters. As you can probably imagine, this bothered the hell out of me. And I wasn’t about to let it continue either. So I set out to find an Ethernet cable and lo and behold I found this one on Amazon for an impossibly reasonable price. To say this was “convenient” would be an understatement. A 14 foot cable for less than 6 bucks with Prime shipping? My excitement could not be contained. Easy, affordable, and effective. I couldn’t ask for more.I’ve been using this product daily for the past few months and I have to say it performs just as well as I expected it to. It provides flawless internet connection while, at the same time, is long enough to reach my laptop even if I decide to sit a few feet from the plug-in. It can also be wrapped up and transported quite easily and does not come unplugged if you accidently bump it, tug it, etc.So if you need an Ethernet cable, this is a great place to get it. You even have the option of ordering a 25 foot cable or a 50 foot cable for just a couple bucks more. Not sure where that extra 30+ feet is needed, but hey, you have the option!

It's GREY - NOT white
There was no mention of the colour, but as the photos in the description looked white I presumed it was a white cable. It's grey, and looks crap against a white wall. Also the labelling on the wire is in thick solid black lettering, not the usual feint dot-matrix type which gives you the information you need only when you look closely, there's no need to read AmazonBasics from the other side of the room!I chucked it straight in the bin without trying it.It's insane that Amazon doesn't make this cable white - that what we ALL want!!

High quality product at a fantastic price.
Nothing beats a wired connection. I work in IT and this serves my home network with high speed internet without any issues. This lead is great for streaming and maintaining a steady connection.✓ Perfect for streaming and gaming.✓ Works as well as a short 1 meter cable.✓ No issues with signal drop. Important when a stable connection is required for VPN, file transfer.✗ It is slightly awkward to unravel, but it is 50ft!Protip: If you plan to get the most speed ensure you have this plugged in to the correct port on your router! Most routers have ports that are much faster than than the others!

It isn't white like the picture.
I searched for WHITE CAT 5 cable and this came up. The picture is white and the length was right so I bought it. It has just arrived and it's grey. Looking back at the order there are other pictures including ones that show it as grey. Lower down the description also describes it as grey. My bad for not seeing these elements but Amazon's bad for leading me to a picture of a white cable after I searched for a white cable and then sending me a grey one. Looks like I'm not the only one who was caught out by it either.

High quality and reliable product
I trust AmazonBasics for everything. They always manage to produce the best products for the best price and quality. When it comes to RJ45 cables, many on the shelf that are in the price range as this one are just garbage, the connector just snaps off after a few uses. But this cable made of the highest quality materials and I am certain it will last long. When it comes to Amazon and the products they offer, you just have to buy without any hesitation and thinking too much, simply because they have the best customer service in the planet.Overall grading :Quality: 5/5Price: 5/5Reliability: 5/5

Slightly lighter than dove grey.
I can confirm this is absolutely a network cable. Consisting of a male RJ45 connector and one end and another male RJ45 at the other. Inbetween them is 15.2 meters (50 feet) of category 5e network cable. Plugging one end into a device and another into another device allowed them to talk to each using the magic of communication protocols.I received this product buy paying for it and not for a five star review so I can get more free stuff like the rest of the review whores.
