Bought this to write on vacuum sealed bags going into the freezer - so far so good!
After my go-to pen dried up, I needed a replacement pen to write on the plastic bags I use with my vacuum sealer. When I first tested this pen on one of the bags, I didn't think it was going to work - I did a small scribble on the bag and then wiped across it with my finger, and it smeared. But then I thought I might not be giving it a fair chance to dry, so I wrote out a word and by the time I got to the end of the word, the first couple of letters didn't smudge when I ran my finger across them. So if you're writing on a slick surface, give it just a second or two to dry. Most pens I came across while shopping had broader tips than I wanted (hard to read on the bag unless you write big), but I can write with either end of this pen and it's easy to read.

Great markers
I have two of these that are going on 20 years old and with gentle writing pressure and keeping them tightly capped they are still working. I use these for writing wire identifications on heat shrink tubing before shrinking them on the wire. The writing has stayed dark and legible for years in the installations I have performed. The ink is susceptible to removal with isopropyl alcohol, but otherwise seems pretty indelible. Compared to a black Sharpie, these have finer tips and seem to deposit a darker shade of ink.

It’s okay
In order to use this pen, I had to go over my lines a couple times to make it not look opaque on glass but it’s a great pen for any other surface. Unfortunately I got the pen for glass painting but overall it’s a nice pen.

Great for marking dahlias
I used this pen to mark all my dahlia tubers this year. It worked great.

Works on plastic nail swatches without smudging!
Absolutely perfect for writing on my plastic nail swatches. The writing is so easy to read and the ink doesn't smear or smudge like it does when I use the other popular name brand one. This one is so much better. It's exactly what I needed.

Not good on glass
Yes it did write on the glass, but it doesn't stay well. I got it to do the line art of an image I was going to paint over and it left streaks similarly to expo makers on whiteboards. Not just that, but it would also wipe off as I was painting over it. Even after letting it dry completely for a few days the ink would flake off and distort the original image. On glass the finer side did not let out enough ink to do clean lines and the thicker side would let inconsistent amounts of ink.Have not tired it on other mediums yet

I like this pen
I previously bought the 8 pack with different colors but I use the black one in that set a lot. I bought this one as a backup for when my current black one runs out of ink. With another popular brand of permanent pens, before the ink even gets used up, the cap of the pen usually separates from the second part inside the cap. What I mean is that in that other brand, there is a second plastic piece inside the pen cap that keeps the pen from drying out. Once that part of the cap comes out (usually before the ink runs out), then the pen is very annoying to use because the cap is useless and the pen will dry out sooner then it would have. With this Sakura pen, the cap is all one piece, so the cap is not going to fall apart and dry out the pen before it runs out of ink.

Better than sharpie but not perfect
Needed this for artifact plastic bag labeling. Works better than most but need quality bags to work best. This is better than sharpies by a long shot.
