Product Description Ruffwear's Gnawt-a-Stick is inspired by Oregon coastal driftwood, a favorite token among beach-combing dogs in the Pacific Northwest. This natural rubber toy is durable and chew-resistant, with a faceted, gum-massaging surface. It bounces erratically for an engaging game of fetch, and it floats upright to remain visible and easy to retrieve. Part of the Pacific Gnaw-west toy collection inspired by Ruffwear's home of Bend, Oregon, and its natural surroundings. Set Contains: 1 x Gnawt a Stick

indestructible.
First off. Don’t open the amazon package in a coffee shop unless you want people to think you are opening a package from Adam and Eve. True story. I was asked to take my dildo outside because I was making other customers uncomfortable. When I showed the employee the package clearly stating a dog toy, she stood up and screamed, “don’t worry everyone. It’s not a dildo it’s a dog toy!” Not sure I’ve ever been so embarrassed in my life. This thing is indestructible . It floats but eventually the float will fall out of the stick and it will sink. I’ve lost 3 of these sticks because the float falls out mid air. I’ve had 110lb dogs steal this stick from my dog and try to chew it to pieces. They have never been able to chew off a single piece..only teeth marks.Note: don’t buy the red one. My pup can find the blue and yellow one in the water no problem. The red one is virtually invisible for him to see. I’ve had multiple people at the park tell me that dogs have a hard time seeing red and I agree based on experience. Not sure if this is a legit statement but my pup has never brought the red stick back.

Extremely Disappointing
The media could not be loaded. I am extremely disappointed and feel duped by this toy and maker... 'durable' is such a subjective term, and just plain untrue in this case. Natural rubber is just too soft, and the hollow walls too thin, for this stick to be anywhere near durable. This toy lasted only 5 MINUTES before pieces of it were dangerously inside my Lab pup's stomach, much easier and faster than even less reputable and cheaper toys my pup has experienced. I am So-o-o tired of paying big bucks to companies that use the trendy 'tough toy' verbiage to sell products that do not meet realistic safety standards for their ACTUAL consumers, endangering their health and blaming lack of 'supervision' as the culprit. My pup was not unsupervised, if he had been he would have ended up at the emergency vet for hundreds of $$$$$ later! Without the help of responsible dog toy mfgs. it is hard to be a responsible pet parent, even when paying through the nose for it!, and dogs like mine will continue to get very few toys until they start using materials that stand-up to how they are actually used, and by whom!....It's too bad, 'cuz I had great hopes for the Gnawt-a-Stick... if it wasn't so EASILY DESTRUCTIBLE it would have otherwise been my idea of the ideal toy for my pup!! As is, I DO NOT recommend it as a safety hazard, and will not be throwing money at any more hyped-up Ruffwear products.

Our chocolate lab loves these sticks!
This is the stick my husband has used for our pure-bred chocolate lab since he was a baby - he's now 1.5 years old. He will retrieve this stick for hours! We have another lab that loves it as well! It floats on the pond as well, so we can toss it for water retrieval. Our only problem is that our dogs will compete against each other to retrieve the stick and when they both get to it, they will grab hold and not let go until it breaks in half! LOL!! So, we continue to order the stick. Another order put in today for the stick....sigh....wish the dogs wouldn't fight over their favorite stick!! Purchasing it here is cheaper than buying it in our local pet store.

Not chew resistant, not worth your money.
My pup was so excited about this toy and it lasted about 10 minutes. She is not a chewer normally and completely destroyed the end of it. Hoping we can still use it in the water as a fetch stick.Looked up the warranty on these and they do not cover chewing damage. A little disappointed for a product that didn’t last us a day that is listed as “chew-resistant”. Not worth the money, could have found something similar for much cheaper.

Not made in the USA
The description stated this was a USA sourced product. I assumed that to mean made in the States as well. It's not. It's made in Vietnam. Also, (and worse) my super chewer lab tore through this toy in two days.Bummer, because I thought it would be fun for the lake.

Durable throw sticks for even toy destroyer dogs
Our German shepherd and lab destroy all toys.. These get an A+.. We keep these outside just to throw for the dogs vs balls that bounce and go out of the fence. Had for a couple months now. Dogs love them and even with chewing no bite or puncture marks. Definitely interested I other products they make..

My 6 Month old puppy loves this!
The only thing my puppy loves more than retreiving sticks is chewing on them. I worry about how much he ingests so I figured I'd try this. What a great substitute for our little guy! It throws like a stick, he can grab it and hold it like a stick, and he can chew it without me having to worry about him.I knocked it down a star for durability because it's not as tough as the red Kong rubber but it's held up very well.

Not Good for Heavy Chewer
I have a pit that is a heavy chewer - have spent a crazy amount on toys and chews looking for a few that will last at least a week. I thought this might be good for a heavy chewer but it only lasted about 2 hours before I was picking up little chunks of rubber.

Does what it is supposed to do
Really good rubber alternative to a traditional stick. Plenty of bend in it which works well for my dog as he is a daxie - so very close to the ground. If he grabs it awkwardly, it bends so it gives him chance to adjust the stick in his jaw before he trots back to us with it. I only dropped one star because I haven’t had chance to see if it floats in water yet - my dog likes to avoid puddles, so I may not get a chance to ever test it!

Fantastic
My stick chaser loves this, balls don't cut it for her! I've had the yellow before, but the blue is much better when you have to search for it!Really sturdy too, my 2 doberman play tug with this and there's no sign of wear and tear after 3 months!

Not a chew toy
If your dog chews toys this is not for you. No word of a lie this picture was taken not even 10 minutes after giving it to her

Great toy
My wife's eyes lit up when this arrived. Great length, durability and the perfect width to get your hand around. She was so happy she even said she might buy another one for the dog.
