On my first heated floor I used heating coil mats, which work well, but are a pain installing. You have to first lay out a plan, then cut the mats and continually flip over to change direction of the heating pattern. I used the Dirta Heat cable with my second install, and with this, you just pop it into the underlayment membrane. You can easily change your layout if you need to, and you can alternate spacing if you end up with too much cable. My only concern with this system is the thermostat. It seems to be greatly affected by the ambient wall temperature, rather then just the room temperature. I used this product on a room that was added on to the original house. So while the thermostat is installed on an interior wall, since that wall was originally an exterior wall, it gets some cold intrusion. So during a recent cold and windy night while the room temp was actually 68, but the thermostat was reading 58, so the floor was continually on. Once the wind died down, it when back to normal. I was able to confirm this problem with an infrared thermometer. I'm going to try spraying in some insulation foam above to thermostat to see if that helps.

This Schluter heating system is awesome. I was aware they say it is not a room heating system but i feel the warmth radiating up. It is an easy system to install and the whole family thinks I am a magician now. I suggest you go to Schluter and watch as many videos that pertain to your install and follow up on youtube. The cable I bought was just the right length for my bathroom. It is best to take a tutorial on you tube to fully understand how to install. It heats evenly and efficiently. I love the heat on my feet after showering.

We use this product on all our heated floors, We prime, use zip tape to hold in place, then level quick,Great product.

It works as supposed to good

Item is fine. The one that I got had an install manual from 2017. The item has not changed but install instructions HAVE. Had to take it out and re-lay.

Have used the Ditra Heat Cable in outdoor applications for buildings in mountain situations. Combined with the Insulationmembrane roll and a suitable overlaying material this product has worked quite well for several years for walkwaysand grated drains.

Easy to work with and install. Clear easy to follow instructions. Product came with detailed step by step instructions and also referenced great on-line videos.
