Uncorked
I wanted to have a fancy cork board map to push pins through, but I wasn't about to spend what it took to buy one already done. Go ahead, search on Amazon for a cork board map and peruse a bit. So I bought this cork board in conjunction with 24x36 United States, USA US Executive Wall Map Poster Mural (24x36 PAPER) . I initially tried to separate the frame from the cork board, but that surely wasn't happening. The frame is very well built and put together. I would have had to destroy the frame before it would have come apart. Let that be a testament to the build quality of the frame. So, I used a hacksaw blade and ran it parallel along the inner edge between the frame and the cork board, in order to make a little void between the two. Then I laid out the map on top of the cork board and trimmed the edges of the map, leaving about 1/2" beyond the inner edge of the frame. Ever so carefully, I pushed the edges of the map up under the frame of the cork board and voila, I saved myself $50+ on the whole shebang. Sure, it's not absolute perfection, but I'd say it looks pretty good and is passable for what I needed. You can see in the photos that there is a slight ripple from the rolled map not laying perfectly flat, but that's only noticeable in a reflection, and I'm hoping that'll smoother out over time. Or you could just hang it in a dark room and forget about it. Also, the lines of the map don't perfectly align with the frame, but they're pretty darn close. The cork itself seems about as thick as most cork boards I've seen. I do know that when I push a pin in, it stays in place. The finish of the frame is smooth and looks great. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one of these boards if need be. I feel my little cork board map creation will last as long as the hills. So if you feel like being a little bit handy and want to save a bit of mulah, do what I did, then sit back and relish in the grandeur of your impeccable handiness.

Gave this an extra 0.5 star because of the patient customer service representative
Initially, I purchased this cork board with the black frame, but I ended up having to return that one because only one bracket for hanging it vertically was included and the black frame was quite rough around the edges--literally. When I decided to reorder, I purchased the lighter wood color after looking around my office and realizing it would work as well. I also figured it might show fewer "dings" around the edging, and I was correct. I didn't notice any damage to the edges on this one when I opened it. Huge kudos to Whitney, the customer service resentative who I chatted with earlier today. I thought they had only sent me one bracket again, but I didn't want to have to return the cork board just because of that. As I told Whitney towards the end of our chat, you should always open the packaging completely before you decide something is missing because while we were chatting and she was looking up the product, I opened the materials packet and saw that the two brackets were just stuck together. [That was not the case with the furst cork board. That one definitely only shipped with one bracket.] Although I couldn't see her facial expressions, Whitney's "chat tone" remained professional even after I told her about my error, which I truly appreciated after wasting like 5 minutes of her time. Overall, I'm very pleased with this cork board. It looks very nice in my home office, and the "regular" thumbtacks I have work well. They aren't poking through the back or anything. As you can hopefully see in the pics, if you're only putting paper documents on it like me, there's plenty of space to hang numerous pages.

Basic Cork Board
This is a basic cork board with a plastic frame. Mounting is easy, but I would like a more secure mounting system. Right now, the board hangs from two mounting brackets. I will probably use Velcro Command Strips to somewhat secure the bottom of the board. Otherwise, I am happy with the product.

Cork board
The board is very helpful for my needs and progress tracking, almost wish I got a bigger one but it will suffice. Hanging is simple, just make sure you buy pins for its purpose.

Perfect for a renting college student
What I like: This corkboard is the best. Perfect for its affordable price and does the job well. It's also pretty cute and lightweight that it made it easy for me to "mount" on my wall. It also came in undamaged. Im only renting and can't really mount anything on the wall so what I did was that I used a strand of masking tape on the top to keep it against the wall and prevent it from falling, then I used a push pin and a magazine file to act as base support (I circled them red in the pic). And so far it is pretty stable and hasn't fallen over yet and I don't think it will. Oh also, my wall is made of wood that's why I was able to get the push pin through it. What I don't like: It's a bit thin. My push pins go through the board so I would be careful not to put the push pins all the way especially if your wall is made of wood like mine. other than that I love it.

Totalmente satisfecho!

It's your standard cork bulletin board, but with the quality, you'd expect from Quartet. Very happy with the quality, especially given the price (these can get very expensive as size scales). It was only available in black when I purchased it, so I may paint the wood white in the future, but the finish is quite good. It does come with hardware to mount to the wall, but I opted to use four medium 3M Command strips to put it up and they are holding really well. Very happy with this purchase, especially when factoring in the attractive price!
