## Description

We have mounted a strong 3/4" diameter x 3/4" cylinder 40 pound N52 grade neodymium-iron-boron rare earth magnet in 6061 aluminum for industrial use, and attached it to a high-grade Delrin (Acetal Resin) handle. Includes a removable vinyl cap to protect the magnet when not in use. Perfect for higher volume gold and silver shops, automotive shops, recycling & scrap metal yards. Identify & sort some types of costume (fake) jewelry, which often use steel as the base material under the plating. Identify & sort steel grades and metal alloys that contain iron or cobalt. Identify & sort chrome plated items from polished aluminum, silver, and non-magnetic grades of stainless steel. Identify/sort solid brass and bronze from plated steel items. Test rocks for iron content, which often indicate extraterrestrial origin (Meteorites). Also handy for science experiments involving ferromagnetism. The magnet is rated at 40lb pull strength (as with all magnets, this rating depends on the magnet mating to a smooth, flat, unpainted steel surface). Dimensions are: 1" diameter x 1-1/4" tall head, 5-1/2" overall length (5-3/4" w/cap), 1" diameter x 3.25" handle. **Q: Can this find metal studs through tile an backing**
A: It would depend on what kind of tile and how thick it is. Tough question.

A: To some extent, you'd be better off with a rare earth magnet, they type they use at a pawn shop, which will be more expensive.

A: It doesn't. You have to wipe off the shards with a cloth or gloved hands.

**Q: Will this be able to pick up a plated gold jewelry and not a solid gold one?**
A: It depends on the metal under the plating. If the metal is non-ferrous then no. If it is ferrous metal then yes.
